Job summary

McKinstry in Dallas, TX is seeking a Project Manager - Energy to join our expanding Energy team. You will lead energy services projects for large accounts and enjoy greater autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit as part of a growing team.

This role requires experience in commercial construction within the ESCO space, strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented, consultative approach. Occasional multi-site travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3–5 years of leadership over project teams with experience in engineering, construction, facilities services.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Project.
  • Knowledge of scheduling software: Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with a General Contractor or major mechanical subcontractor.
  • PE, CFM, CEM, CPM, LEED, CHC designations are a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process, financial acumen, and systems.
  • Intermediate knowledge of construction financial programs and software.
  • Ability to create and manage budgets, revenue forecasting and client expectations.

The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking aProject Manager - Energy to join our team as a member of our growing Energy team in Dallas, TX. As a Project Manager, your main areas of focus will be on energy services projects for large accounts. You’ll be a key member of a growing team, so you can expect more autonomy and entrepreneurial spirit. The purpose of this position is for an individual to support construction projects regionally which will require multi-day travel to various locations across Montana. While travel is a key component of this role, the physical location of the employee’s residence is flexible.

We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated experience within commercial construction, more specifically in the ESCO space, and is comfortable taking ownership of projects involving complex pieces. We expect this individual to possess strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, is results oriented, consultative, and collaborative.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry
  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent work experience required.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of leadership over project teams with experience in engineering, construction,facilities services required.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project required.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling software: Microsoft Project required.
  • Experience with a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred.
  • PE, CFM, CEM, CPM, LEED, CHC professional designations are a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process, financial acumen, and systems.

The pay range for this position is $92,520 - $152,500 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
