Job summary

Barton Malow is seeking a Project Manager to join our Dayton, OH team. You will oversee project delivery across all phases, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget targets are met, with guidance from a senior PM.

The role involves coordinating with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and design teams, and supporting procurement, planning, and cost management on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• 2+ years of GC/CM construction management or equivalent project engineering experience.
• Developing knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and cost management.
• Experience with Procore preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support procurement process, bid list development, and bid evaluation.
• Assist with work scope development and front-end documents.
• Support project scheduling, site logistics planning, and constructability reviews.
• Help establish and oversee the jobsite safety plan and safety culture on site.
• Manage RFI and submittal processes and ensure timely responses.
• Support cost management, including budget setup in Prolog and cost tracking.
• Facilitate project team meetings and maintain project documentation.
• Communicate with subcontractors, trade partners, and design teams under Project Manager guidance.

The Project Manager supports project execution from preconstruction through closeout, including procurement, planning, field operations, and cost management, under the guidance of a senior Project Manager. This role partners closely with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and design teams, and is an excellent opportunity for a developing project manager to grow their career on complex projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the procurement process, including developing bidders lists, distributing bidding documents, conducting pre-bid meetings, and evaluating bids.
• Assist with development of work scopes and front-end documents based on project needs and owner contract requirements.
• Support project scheduling, site logistics planning, and constructability reviews in conjunction with the superintendent and senior Project Manager.
• Help establish and oversee the jobsite safety plan and support a strong safety culture on site.
• Manage the RFI and submittal processes, ensuring both are processed accurately and on time.
• Support cost management, including budget setup in Prolog, cost tracking, change management, and monitoring project costs.
• Facilitate project team meetings, maintain documentation, and support start-up and closeout processes.
• Manage communication with subcontractors, trade partners, and the Architect/Engineer under the direction of the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience in GC/CM construction management, or equivalent project engineering experience.
• Developing knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, and cost management.
• Experience with Procore preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
