Description
Convergint is looking for a full‑time, enthusiastic, results‑driven and forward‑thinking Project Manager to join our culture. In this role, you will manage all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, directing, application engineering, budgeting and procurement, as well as managing field installation, start‑up, and close‑out. You will ensure projects are executed within budget, meet schedule targets, and maintain positive cash flow. The Project Manager will interface with customers, maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all projects.
What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”
- Manage many aspects of assigned projects (valued up to $1M) from award through completion, including overall site management, preparing installation plans, and implementing job procedures.
- Translate customer needs into detailed proposals and project implementation plans; review and approve estimated costs prior to bid; engage in contract negotiation; provide technical assistance to the sales force; supervise design engineering, installation labor, and subcontractors; prepare schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, invoices; assist with collections.
- Effectively communicate project requirements to the team and wider organization; maintain accurate records of job status, changes, material flow, and other control records.
- Act as the customer’s best service provider, ensuring Convergint remains the first choice for service.
- Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate impact and control deviations from estimated costs and deadlines.
- Communicate project schedules, change proposals, and activities regularly with the customer to continuously improve satisfaction.
- Manage procurement, including selection of materials, supplies, and services, ensuring timely and cost‑effective completion.
- Establish milestones, analyze costs, review actual versus estimated job costs, and provide timely cost reports; adjust or correct plans as needed to meet financial goals.
- Review scope, terms, and conditions in customer contracts; enforce cost control, delivery fulfillment, quality standards, and other requirements.
- Manage direct reports (if applicable) and subcontractor selection.
- Perform other duties as requested or required.
What You’ll Need
- Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation, fire alarm, electronic security, and AV systems).

Requirements
Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
Associates degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum experience: 3 years in relevant engineering, field service or project management.
Preferred Experience (but not required)
- Experience in electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation and/or AV systems.
- Previous project supervisory experience.
- Certifications & licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI) certification; industry‑specific certifications and/or licenses; valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
