About Terradepth

Terradepth is building the next generation of ocean technology by combining autonomous maritime hardware, software, data, and AI into an integrated Ocean Operating System. We work with government and commercial customers to solve complex problems in some of the world’s most challenging environments.

The Role

We are looking for a Project Manager with 5-10 years of progressively responsible experience managing government programs and contracts. This person will manage multiple concurrent projects and serve as the connective tissue between our customers and internal Engineering, Product, Operations, Sales, and Finance teams.

The ideal candidate understands both the discipline required to execute federal contracts and the speed and flexibility required in a growing technology company. Experience with enterprise SaaS, maritime systems, defense technology, or complex hardware/software programs is highly desirable.

This is a hands-on role. You will be expected to own schedules, deliverables, customer communication, risks, budgets, and execution—not simply coordinate meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple government and commercial projects from contract award through delivery, customer acceptance, invoicing support and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day program interface for assigned customers and build trusted relationships with technical, operational, contracting, and program stakeholders.
  • Actively develop and maintain customer relationships during project execution.
  • Translate contractual requirements into clear internal tasks, priorities, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate across Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Product, Operations, Sales, and Finance.
  • Track contractual deliverables including reporting requirements, invoicing milestones, project performance, risks, dependencies, issues, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain scope and change control by documenting customer requests, assessing their impact, and coordinating contract modifications when required.
  • Lead regular internal and customer project reviews.
  • Ensure contractual commitments and customer expectations are clearly understood and actively managed.
  • Support proposals, contract modifications, SOW development, and new business opportunities.
  • Identify project risks early and drive resolution rather than simply reporting problems.
  • Identify additional sales and technical opportunities within the project and relay to appropriate internal Terradepth personnel for further development.
  • Maintain appropriate program documentation and reporting for government customers.
  • Support customer demonstrations, testing, deployments, and operational activities as required.
  • Travel to customer and field sites as required.
What We're Looking For
  • 5-10 years of progressive project/program management experience, preferably supporting federal government contracts.
  • At minimum, active TS or active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects or programs simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of federal contracting, government customer expectations, and contract execution.
  • Experience managing technical programs involving software, hardware, data, or integrated systems.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise SaaS business models and software product delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with engineers, executives, customers, and government stakeholders.
  • Highly organized, accountable, and comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • Ability to identify what needs to happen next and drive the team toward completion without requiring constant direction.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and field operations as required.
Preferred Experience
  • Maritime, UUV/AUV, robotics, defense, ocean technology, or related industry experience.
  • Experience with DoD, IC, or other federal customers.
  • Experience managing programs involving both physical hardware and SaaS/software platforms.
  • Experience working with subcontractors, technology partners, and geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience with JIRA, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or comparable planning and execution tools.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company.
  • PMP or similar project/program management certification.
What Success Looks Like
  • Projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to customer expectations.
  • Internal teams have clear priorities, owners, and deadlines.
  • Customer commitments and contractual requirements are translated into executable internal plans, and program forecasts remain current.
  • Customers have confidence that Terradepth understands and will deliver against its commitments.
  • Risks and issues are surfaced early and actively resolved.
  • Multiple complex programs can move forward simultaneously without losing accountability or execution discipline.

This is a role for a project manager who wants to own outcomes, not just manage schedules. You should be comfortable operating between government customers, technical teams, and company leadership and bringing structure, urgency, and accountability to complex programs.

We care about our team's well-being. We offer a competitive benefits package that includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, plus a 401(k) retirement plan.
