Job Description

General Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of a facilities, materials, environmental, or geotechnical engineering project to ensure that it is safely completed on time and within scope and budget. Responsible for completing the project as per its contracted scope; monitor progress and performance against the project plan. Troubleshoot and recommend or resolve operational problems and minimize delays. May be responsible for resource management, project scheduling, budgets and forecasts, and working with external vendors, subcontractors or contractors. Conduct meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project to the project team and client. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet project targets and milestones. May have responsibilities to communicate with the client and deliver work products to satisfaction of the client. Coordinates effort with APR to ensure engagement throughout the project, particularly at critical junctures. Is involved with approving invoices, preparing change orders, and collections.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all aspects of a small to medium sized project.
  2. Work with client or NAM to define project scope, schedule, and budget.
  3. Design, communicate, and implement a project plan for completing the project.
  4. Lead safety efforts including preparation and compliance with approved safety plan.
  5. Take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
  6. Identify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the project, including calculations, designs, reports, work specifications, schedules, budgets, and external contractors.
  7. Partner with other departments or offices to secure specialized resources.
  8. Conduct meetings and prepare reports on project status.
  9. Set priorities, assign tasks, and coordinate project staff to meet targets.
  10. Coordinate with APR for oversight and review at critical junctures.
  11. Coordinate with accounting for financial management, invoicing, and collections.
  12. Develop understanding of project-related risks and company policies.
  13. Lead safety efforts and promote a safe work environment.
  14. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.
  15. Ensure consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery, engaging APRs at project onset.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field, with a minimum of 5 years' related experience; or a minimum of 9 years' related experience without a degree.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Preferred Certification:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), or similar professional registration/certification relevant to the projects.
