Job summary

French & Parrello Associates (FPA) in Newark, NJ seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead transportation construction projects, coordinate with clients and contractors, and advance a long-term career within a growing engineering firm.

The candidate should hold a NJ Professional Engineer license, have 8+ years of construction experience and at least 2 years in project management, and be willing to work in both office and field environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• NJ PE license required.
• 8+ years of construction experience and 2+ years of project management.
• Experience performing construction inspection on civil projects.
• AutoCAD and MS Office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation: pay estimates, submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, change orders.
• Oversee multiple transportation construction projects concurrently.
• Review, track, and markup construction schedules.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Lead client, contractor, and team meetings to review progress and issues.
• Interface with clients and contractors to coordinate next steps.

Construction Engineering & Project Experience

FPA’s Construction Engineering Department provides construction management and inspection services for transportation and civil engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation and controls, including pay estimates, submittals, shop drawings, RFI’s, and change orders.
• Manage multiple transportation-related construction projects at once.
• Review, track, and markup Construction Schedules.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
• Lead project meetings with clients, contractors, and project teams to review progress, address issues, and coordinate next steps.
• Interface with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and/or Construction/Engineering related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New Jersey required.
• Minimum of 8 years of construction related experience and 2 years of Project Management experience.
• Experience performing construction inspection on Civil Engineering projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office preferred but not required.
• Candidate should be motivated, organized, and willing to work in the office and field.

Compensation

The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $150,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, education, qualifications, and skill set. FPA recognizes and rewards performance through an annual bonus program.
