Job summary

Dean Builds, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee assigned projects from initiation through completion. You will coordinate scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and site safety while maintaining timely communications with the executive team.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of PM experience, a civil engineering or construction management background, and familiarity with Procore. This role requires travel to sites weekly and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines and construction procedures.
  • Experience with Procore is a major plus (Dean Builds will train).
  • Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and MS Project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; professional, credible presentation.
  • Able to multitask and work both independently and in a team.

  • Manage all aspects of assigned job or project at Dean Builds, Inc.
  • Maintain and communicate project phases and budget status weekly to executives.
  • Oversee site safety, scheduling, and cost control to meet deadlines.
  • Coordinate turnover meetings with estimating, PM/Estimator, and signoff.
  • Prepare comprehensive project schedules and weekly status reports.
  • Ensure quality and conformance to drawings, specs, and scope.
  • Travel to project locations at least weekly and manage field staff.

Job Summary

The overall objective of this position is to manage all aspects of the assigned job or project of Dean Builds, Inc. This role is responsible for maintaining and communicating each phase of the construction process as it happens with appropriate changes in scope, and the overall financial status to the executive team on a weekly basis.

Additional responsibility to oversee and provide actions necessary to contribute to the attainment of both operating profit and net profit performance. Must oversee and manage all site-specific information required to maintain timely project completion and accurate financial job-related goals within Dean Builds, Inc.

Responsibilities:
  • Making sure that all construction activities are performed in a timely and cost-efficient basis to effectively meet all scheduled due dates and job estimates regarding materials and labor.
  • Coordinate all job-related activities to maintain a safe and productive environment for all on-site personnel.
  • Maintain tight controls on all labor and material needs to ensure operational efficiencies and overall budgetary controls.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and visit project wherever the project is located at least once every week.
  • Coordinate project turn over meeting with estimating, PM/Estimator and checklist signoff.
  • Produce a comprehensive project schedule including revisions. Provide weekly status reports; and be prepared to discuss if on schedule or behind. If behind schedule, have a plan to mitigate.
  • Complete a project execution plan prior to starting the project. Update monthly or as necessary.
  • Process submittals to meet DB standards / Owner contract requirements including sign off by DB PM and approved by Architect, Engineer or Owner prior to procurement or performance of the work.
  • Complete project flash reports prior to Monday status meetings.
  • Ensure Site Managers provide daily reports for the VP of Operations and others as directed.
  • Prior to the start of construction for each job, review and ensure that files for all appropriate information, tools, equipment, materials, etc. are available and maintained.
  • Responsible for the highest level of quality of construction at all times.
  • Ensure all projects are performed in a quality manner as per the drawings, specifications, addendums and scope of work.
  • Update project financials monthly.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews of team members reporting directly to them.
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the VP of Operations.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2+ years of construction Project Management experience.
  • Preference for bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • Experience working in the fast-paced, industry-relevant field of construction management as a project manager for two plus years.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA guidelines, equipment and construction procedures.
  • Role requires the individual to express or exchange ideas verbally and effectively.
  • Experience working with Procore (project management software) is a major plus. (Dean Builds will train)
  • Must be computer proficient, PC, Microsoft Office, MS Project.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal). Able to interact with all levels being served. Represent the company in a professional, credible manner in speech, written communications and appearance.
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask.
  • Work effectively with others in a fast-paced, teamwork environment to assist in the development of business goals and their achievement. Also, able to work independently and productively with minimal supervision.
  • Able to adapt behavior to different people and situations.
Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to function well with regard to the following:

  • Uncontrolled environmental conditions.
  • Constant change in weather and site conditions.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 75 lbs., routinely lifting 50 lbs.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, seeing and reading and reaching to perform everyday job tasks.
