Job summary

Insight Global seeks a seasoned project manager to lead Medicaid/health IT implementations and enhance care management data exchange. You will craft comprehensive project plans, manage scope, risks, and budgets, and coordinate with CMS and stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

You will apply traditional, agile, or hybrid methodologies, manage resources, and implement change processes while reporting progress and blockers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field; 3–5 years of Medicaid/health IT project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and monitor integrated master schedules and project budgets.
  • Experience with vendor management and ensuring contract deliverables are met.
  • Experience leading projects using waterfall, agile, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and web-based PM tools (Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Workday, Monday).
  • 3–5 years of healthcare or claims data project experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead project manager for Medicaid/health IT implementation efforts and improve care management data exchange.
  • Develop comprehensive, time-sensitive PM plans covering scope, requirements, acceptance criteria, risk, communication, change management, and schedules.
  • Apply PM methodologies to monitor/Control scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Implement formal change management processes for tracking project changes.
  • Manage resources and teams; provide feedback and ensure performance aligns with plans.
  • Provide regular progress reports with risks and blockers to stakeholders including CMS.
  • Leverage healthcare data domain knowledge to refine requirements, design assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and UAT remediation.

Job description

  • Serve as the lead project manager for the implementation efforts through the improvement of care management data exchange.
  • Develop comprehensive and time-sensitive project management plans, including scope, requirements, acceptance criteria, risk management, communication plans, change management, and both detailed and integrated project schedules.
  • Apply appropriate project management methodologies for project delivery, ensuring effective monitoring and control of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Implement formal change management processes for identifying, documenting, tracking, and incorporating changes to projects.
  • Manage project resources and team activities, providing feedback and ensuring project performance aligns with plans.
  • Provide regular project reporting, with progress, risks, and blockers, for stakeholders, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
  • Utilize domain knowledge in healthcare or Medicaid claims data to work closely with technical analysts and reduce ambiguity in requirements, design, assumptions, constraints, dependencies, and acceptance criteria; assess technical changes and project impacts; and track the remediation of user acceptance testing (UAT) findings.

Stakeholder and Vendor Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with internal and external partners, including the project team members
  • Provide project management oversight of vendor implementation projects to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Facilitate efficient coordination and planning by serving as a central point of contact among various project managers from vendor organizations and other state agencies.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related IT field, business administration, project management, or a closely related degree from an appropriately accredited institution, and 3-5 years of experience managing Medicaid or health IT technical projects; related work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and monitor integrated master schedules and project budgets.
  • Considerable knowledge of vendor management and ensuring contract deliverables are met.
  • Experience leading projects using methodologies such as waterfall, agile, or hybrid models.
  • Experience using a wide variety of project management software, including Microsoft Project and other web-based platforms such as Jira, Asana, Smartsheet, Workday, or Monday.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing projects involving healthcare or claims data.
