Job summary

B2 Constructors in Georgia is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil and underground utility construction to join our growing team. This role will own projects through the full lifecycle—from preconstruction and estimating support through execution, closeout, and final payment.

You will coordinate multiple subs, Superintendents, clients, engineers, inspectors, and stakeholders to deliver on schedule and on budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience with Project Management responsibility.
• Experience managing civil, underground utility, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or related construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, cost management, change orders, billing, and closeout.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Review drawings, specs, scopes, and contract requirements; develop understanding for each project.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and planning activities.
• Collaborate with estimating team during bidding phase.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers; manage documentation and correspondence.
• Prepare and submit project pay applications and supporting docs (AIA billing where applicable).
• Develop and maintain project schedules using MS Project or comparable tools.
• Ensure field teams have information to maintain progress; coordinate with Superintendents.
• Monitor schedule, cost, quality, safety, and overall performance; manage changes and bids.

B2 Constructors is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil and underground utility construction to join our growing team.

This position will have ownership of projects throughout the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction and estimating support through execution, closeout, and final payment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing underground utilities, civil/site construction, and infrastructure scopes, along with the ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors, Superintendents, clients, engineers, inspectors, and project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of assigned projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
• Review project drawings, specifications, scopes, and contract requirements and develop a thorough understanding of each project.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project planning activities.
• Work closely with the estimating team during the bidding phase.
• Solicit, evaluate, and coordinate subcontractor and supplier proposals.
• Assist with project proposals, subcontractor qualifications, procurement, and buyout.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including:
• Schedule of Values
• Quality Control Plans
• Purchase Orders
• Subcontractor Terms and Conditions
• Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, drawing revisions, subcontractor documentation, and project correspondence.
• Coordinate closely with Project Superintendents to ensure field teams have the information necessary to maintain progress.
• Review project schedules, costs, quality, safety requirements, and overall performance.
• Manage project changes, pricing, documentation, and change orders.
• Prepare and submit project pay applications and supporting documentation, including AIA billing when applicable.
• Conduct periodic jobsite visits to review quality, progress, safety, and compliance with project documents.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, punch-list activities, and project closeout.
• Maintain effective communication with owners, subcontractors, Superintendents, engineers, vendors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
• Identify project risks early and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Utility & Civil Experience

Candidates should have demonstrated experience managing one or more of the following:

• Underground utility construction
• Domestic water and water mains
• Sanitary sewer
• Storm sewer and storm drainage systems
• Underground piping
• Utility relocations
• Site utilities
• Earthwork and grading
• Excavation and trenching
• Shoring and dewatering
• Bedding, backfill, and compaction
• Concrete and site improvements
• Utility tie-ins and connections
• Testing, inspections, and restoration

Candidates should also be comfortable reviewing and interpreting civil plans, utility profiles, elevations, slopes, specifications, details, and construction drawings.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience with demonstrated Project Management responsibility.
• Experience managing civil, underground utility, infrastructure, commercial, industrial, or related construction projects.
• Experience managing multiple projects, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and competing priorities.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of RFIs, submittals, procurement, scheduling, cost management, change orders, billing, and project closeout.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while maintaining accountability for project results.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential project issues before they impact cost or schedule.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Experience with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent construction experience will also be considered.
• Experience working on VA, DoD, USACE, or other federal projects.
• Familiarity with federal construction documentation, safety, quality-control, and contracting requirements.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or similar construction-management platforms.
• Experience managing projects involving civil/site work in addition to underground utilities.
• Experience coordinating work around existing utilities and resolving field conflicts.
