Position Overview

This is a developmental role. The incumbent will maintain a zero-incident safety culture while coordinating multiple work fronts, processes, and guiding a team of cross-functional employees. As part of the engineering team, the Project Manager will lead meetings, collaborate on strategic project goals, and assist with project requirements as needed.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site work at assigned project locations across the USA, including California, Montana, Tennessee, Arkansas, Arizona, North Dakota, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas. Candidates must be willing to relocate; remote or fly-in-fly-out arrangements are not available.

Qualifications:

  • Willing and able to relocate to any assigned project area in the USA
  • Canadian citizenship for work visa purposes
  • Four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university
  • Maximum of 5 years of experience as a construction Project Manager
  • Heavy civil construction experience is required
  • Fieldwork experience is required
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and make timely decisions
  • Proven ability to motivate and coordinate teams
  • Knowledge of project management principles and sound judgment
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, including technical report writing

Responsibilities:

  • Guide project teams to meet goals through effective communication and coordination
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture
  • Train and mentor project team members
  • Report to senior management
  • Provide project updates and reviews
  • Ensure compliance with training and procedures
  • Define and understand scope, schedule, and budget with all stakeholders
  • Control and maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Monitor progress and take corrective actions to stay on track
  • Secure approvals for scope, schedule, or budget changes
  • Maintain communication with clients and adjust as needed
  • Review design variances and value engineering initiatives
  • Support quality and safety certification processes
  • Develop third-party Work Plans
  • Represent Barnard on technical matters
  • Participate in technical and progress meetings
  • Review reports and invoices
  • Prepare and review project-related reports and correspondence
  • Communicate regularly with contractors and technical personnel
