Project Manager - AV/Low Voltage Construction

Location: 310 Evergreen Road, Louisville, KY, 40243

Shift: Full-Time, 1st shift, estimated 40 to 45 hours per week. Occasional after-hours, weekend work, and travel may be required.

Role Overview

As a Project Manager at Strategic Communications, you will lead projects within the Project Management Office (PMO), focusing on commercial Audiovisual (AV), structured cabling, and low-voltage infrastructure from initiation to completion. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in active construction environments involving AV or related technologies.

This role requires developing project artifacts such as schedules of values, RFIs, construction schedules, and coordination plans. Success depends on organization, leadership, and adaptability, especially when working with multiple contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects from initiation to closeout, ensuring they meet budget, scope, and schedule targets.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation including schedules, RFIs, and deployment plans.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and clients to align construction and technology installation schedules.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including design engineers, AV technicians, programmers, and subcontractors.
  • Handle change requests, site conditions, and evolving client needs while maintaining project alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with construction standards, low-voltage practices, and AV system protocols.
  • Assess and mitigate project risks for smooth technology deployments.
  • Support the growth and improvement initiatives of the PMO, standardizing processes.
  • Conduct on-site reviews and collaborate with field teams to ensure quality.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial AV, cabling, or low-voltage projects in active construction settings.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent project management experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience working with general and electrical contractors.
  • Knowledge of project artifacts like RFIs, change orders, and submittals.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-project management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, CTS-D, CTS-I) is a plus.
  • Excellent technical writing and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of AV systems, low-voltage practices, and cabling principles.
