Your Impact

At Jacobs, we’re redefining how communities are planned, designed, and built. As part of our Cities & Places Market, you’ll join a multidisciplinary global team that draws on expertise in strategic planning, architecture, urban design, interiors, engineering, program and construction management, natural sciences, and the arts. Our work spans public and private sectors—including governments, commercial developers, education and healthcare institutions, industrial clients, and emerging markets such as digital infrastructure, life sciences, and asset management. Together, we deliver best in class buildings and bring vibrant, resilient, people‑focused communities to life.

We are seeking a Project Manager with strong architectural expertise and experience delivering large, complex projects. This role is based in our Boston, MA office, supporting major building programs across the region. You’ll guide teams through all phases of design and construction—ensuring solutions that support our clients’ missions and create meaningful impact within the communities we serve.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of large architectural building and interior fit‑out projects from concept through occupancy
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk across all phases of design and construction
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, ensuring alignment of expectations, clear communication, and strong client satisfaction
  • Direct and coordinate multidisciplinary teams—including architects, engineers, planners, interior designers, consultants, and construction partners
  • Oversee design development, technical documentation, regulatory compliance, zoning, and permitting
  • Develop project execution strategies, fee estimates, staffing plans, work plans, and resource allocations
  • Facilitate design charrettes, stakeholder workshops, user engagement sessions, and major decision‑making processes
  • Lead contract administration activities including RFIs, submittals, change management, and construction‑phase coordination
  • Ensure adherence to Jacobs’ quality, safety, and risk management standards
  • Support business development initiatives through proposals, interviews, and client presentations
  • Mentor and coach early‑career professionals supporting the project team
Here’s what you’ll need
  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • 12+ years of experience managing large‑scale architecture or building programs
  • Strong technical understanding of design, building codes, permitting, and construction processes
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, schedules, and contracts on complex, multidisciplinary projects
  • Ability to lead client engagement and facilitate decision‑making throughout all project phases
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Bluebeam) and familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
  • Architecture license (RA), LEED AP, or similar credential
  • Experience delivering large projects in key sectors including life sciences, higher education, healthcare, government/civic, aviation, or commercial development
  • Experience with laboratory or research facilities (a strong advantage in the Boston market)
  • Knowledge of a variety of design and construction delivery methods, including design–build, CM‑at‑risk, progressive design–build, and integrated project delivery methods
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Previous experience working in a large firm design or consulting environment
