Job description

Project Manager Overview

Project Manager works under the direction of the Studio Director and coordinates all aspects of assigned projects both administrative and technical from the entitlement phase through construction administration. The applicant is introduced as the primary client liaison during the LGE process of delivery with an emphasis on bringing the project to completion on schedule with maximum client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Manage projects during the entitlement phase, contract document phase, and construction phase.
  • Develop and manage workplans for each project and directly coordinate staffing needs with the Studio Director.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and coordinate tasks with the project team.
  • Coordinate appropriate and anticipated schedules for upcoming projects with the Studio Director.
  • Consistently perform drawing reviews for conformance with all codes and constructability standards.
  • Act as the primary contact of the project team as it relates to communication with various AHJ’s, consultants, the client and LGE Design Build.
  • Encourage project team collaboration between the Architectural Division and Design Build.
  • Mentor and train staff with less experience.
  • Develop positive relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Prepare and coordinate additional service requests.
  • Follow and enforce quality control procedures.
  • Encourage and promote LGE core values of communication, collaboration, proactive attitude, and quality.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience; or equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Professional registration.
  • Proficient knowledge of a variety of architectural systems and construction methods, including the ability to detail these systems appropriately.
  • Proficient knowledge of federal, state, and local Life Safety and Energy codes relating to various projects.
  • Ability to solve constructability or code related issues.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills among the project team, consultants, and clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages of development.

Candidate Profile

A responsible and organized Project Manager that possesses the experience and ability to contribute to LGE Design Build’s continuous growth. The candidate fosters positive relationships within the organization and with clients, mentors and grows the next generation of architects, and exhibits an ongoing collaborative relationship with LGE Design Build.

Reporting

The Project Manager will report to the Studio Director as needed for the project. Weekly team meetings and weekly updates on project status are required.

Evaluation

An annual review by the Studio Director, peers, and related company staff will be used as part of the evaluation. The above responsibilities form the basis of the evaluation, with emphasis on project delivery on time, issue resolution, interaction with the team and company, and alignment with company values. Individual goals will be discussed and how the firm and the job tasks can assist in those goals.
