Job function

At JFT, the Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end fulfillment of complex engineering and technical projects supporting a variety of nuclear industry customers. This role owns the full project lifecycle from scope definition through design, procurement, fabrication, and final delivery and is responsible for scope, schedule, cost, and risk performance.

The Project Manager operates at the center of cross‑functional execution, leading coordination across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality to ensure disciplined delivery against contractual requirements. Success in this role requires the ability to drive accountability, make informed decisions, and proactively manage risk in a regulated, quality‑driven environment.

This is a hands‑on project delivery role. At JFT, the Project Manager is responsible for the outcomes and must lead projects through ambiguity, technical complexity, and evolving priorities.

Qualifications and experience
Successful candidates will have:
  • Experience leading projects in engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, construction, nuclear, or other technical environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams, solve problems, establish priorities, and drive projects through successful execution.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, risks, resources, and execution plans, with accountability for overall project performance.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate with customers, engineers, production teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and leadership.
  • Ability to build trusted customer relationships, manage expectations, and confidently navigate complex project challenges, changes, and contractual requirements.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, financial forecasts, resource plans, and project controls while simultaneously managing multiple priorities or projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to maintain control of actions, commitments, deliverables, and priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft Project or similar project scheduling and management software.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience and demonstrated success will also be considered.
  • PMP/CAPM certification is preferred, or a willingness to pursue applicable certification within the first year. Experience with project controls, Earned Value Management (EVM), and ERP/MRP systems is also a plus.
  • Occasional travel may be required, typically less than 10%.
Multiple career levels available
  • Associate Project Manager Launch and grow your project management career while supporting complex technical projects. Typical Experience: 2+ years’ Salary Range: $85,000–$115,000 annually
  • Project Manager Lead technical projects, coordinate teams, and deliver results for customers and stakeholders. Typical Experience: 4+ years’ Salary Range: $115,000–$135,000 annually
  • Senior Project Manager Drive complex, high‑impact projects and provide leadership across engineering, manufacturing, customers, and partners. Typical Experience: 7+ years’ Salary Range: $135,000–$165,000 annually
Final compensation

will be based on experience, qualifications, internal equity, and applicable laws.

Typical working conditions

Primarily an office environment with periodic exposure to the fabrication/machine shop and outdoor testing areas

Physical requirements

Must be able to work on a computer, standing or sitting, for most of the day and operate standard office equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers and vendors is essential. May occasionally lift and carry items, typically under 25lbs.

Access to restricted information

This role requires immediate and routine access to restricted information under federal law. Under applicable DOE orders and client contracts, non‑U.S. citizens (including lawful permanent residents) may require an approved DOE Foreign National Visit/Assignment (FNVA) before starting work. Because this position requires immediate access, JFT cannot initiate or sponsor new FNVA processes.
