Job Summary

TYLin is seeking an experienced Project Manager, Airside to provide design leadership on some of the largest and most complex airport redevelopment programs in North America. This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished aviation professional to lead multidisciplinary design teams, manage key stakeholder relationships, and help deliver world-class airside facilities to shape the long-term development of aviation infrastructure.

We are looking for an exceptional design leader with extensive experience managing the design of major airside projects in the United States or internationally. The successful candidate will bring a proven ability to lead complex multidisciplinary teams while collaborating closely with airport owners, general contractors, design consultants, airlines, and other project stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of large capital programs.

The Opportunity

TYLin is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Airside to lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex airfield/airside projects for major aviation programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognized aviation practice and contribute to the transformation of some of the world’s most important airport facilities.

We are looking for a project manager with a strong background in airside/airfield design and redevelopment, who has successfully led multidisciplinary design teams on major projects in the United States or internationally. The successful candidate will have experience coordinating architects, engineers, planners, specialty consultants, airport stakeholders, airlines, and operational teams to deliver innovative, functional, and passenger-focused terminal environments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design delivery of major airfield projects for commercial, regional, and general aviation airports.
  • Manage multidisciplinary design teams including architects, engineers, planners, aviation specialists, and specialty consultants.
  • Coordinate all phases of airside design, including programming, concept design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
  • Develop and manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing plans, and delivery strategies.
  • Facilitate design coordination meetings and ensure alignment between architectural, engineering, operational, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Review and manage design deliverables, technical submissions, and quality assurance processes.
  • Coordinate with construction teams to support constructability reviews, phasing strategies, and implementation planning.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain design quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Airfield Planning, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience delivering complex airside/airfield design projects.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on complex aviation projects.
  • Strong understanding of airfield planning, architectural design, operational requirements, and airfield layouts.
  • Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, tenants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Preferred
  • Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience delivering projects for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ).
  • Experience on large hub airport redevelopment programs valued in the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars.
  • Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, or Public-Private Partnership (P3) delivery models.
  • PMP certification is considered an asset.

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of$153,600 - $210,600 annually for this position and local market.
