Job summary

Kalitta Air in Oscoda, MI is seeking a Project Manager for the 2nd and 3rd shift hangars to lead maintenance operations, ensure aircraft stay on schedule, and supervise overall hangar activities.

You will review training records, schedule workflow with other departments, oversee parts handling and storage, arrange staffing for each customer visit, track man-hours, monitor budgets and estimates, and ensure proper documentation and signatures in line with FAA requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• A&P license required; CFR Part 65 certification required.
• High school diploma; some college/technical training desirable.
• Minimum of 20 years in heavy turbine-powered aircraft maintenance; Boeing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review training records of subordinates to identify training needs.
• Schedule workflow with other departments to keep aircraft on schedule.
• Handle and track all parts during repair, including storage, control, and identification.
• Schedule maintenance personnel staffing for each customer visit to ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee scrap materials and part mutilation as per the program.
• Request additional manpower, equipment, and data to complete aircraft on time.
• Track man-hours and oversee budgets and estimates for each visit.
• Review completed paperwork for proper documentation and signatures.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Project Manager ( 2nd and 3rd shift hangars)

Reports To: Director of Base Maintenance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1. Reviewing the training records of his/her subordinates to identify any deficiencies that require additional training.


• 2. Scheduling the workflow with other departments as needed to ensure that the aircraft stays on schedule.


• 3. Proper handling of all parts while in the repair process. This includes storage, control, segregation, and identification of all articles removed from or awaiting installation on an aircraft.


• 4. Scheduling maintenance personnel staffing for each customer visit, thus ensuring a quality product is delivered to the customer in a timely manner.


• 5. Mutilating parts in accordance with the scrap materials program.


• 6. Requesting additional manpower, equipment, and technical data needed to complete a customer aircraft in a timely manner.


• 7. Tracking man-hours on each customer visit and directly oversee budgets and estimates.


• 8. Reviewing completed paperwork for proper documentation and signatures.

The duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager may be delegated to any qualified assistant; however, such delegation does not relieve the Project Manager of the overall responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school graduate some college and/or technical school desirable. A&P license required. Must be certified under 14 CFR Part 65. Minimum of 20 years Heavy Turbine powered aircraft maintenance required. Experience on Boeing equipment is a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
