Job summary

Elford, Inc. is seeking a Traveling Project Manager based out of Ann Arbor, MI, to lead multifamily construction from preconstruction through closeout.

You will oversee budgets, schedules, procurement, and coordination with field teams across multiple sites, traveling to project locations as needed. The role requires a hands-on, practical approach, with a track record of delivering complex multifamily projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent construction experience.
• 10+ years of commercial construction experience, including at least 5 years in project management.
• Experience managing multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of project financials, scheduling, contracts, and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities

• Lead multifamily projects from preconstruction through closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, forecasts, and cost reports.

Traveling Project Manager - Multifamily

Based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan

At Elford, we build projects and relationships that last. We’re an employee-owned commercial general contractor with more than 100 years of experience, and we’re looking for aTraveling Project Manager to lead multifamily projects based out of Ann Arbor.

In this role, you’ll manage projects from preconstruction through closeout. You’ll work closely with Superintendents and project teams to keep budgets, schedules, trade partners, and client expectations on track. This position requires travel to project sites.

What You'll Do

• Lead multifamily projects from preconstruction and startup through construction and closeout.
• Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, forecasts, and cost reports.
• Partner with Superintendents to coordinate field activities, resolve issues, and maintain progress on site.
• Manage subcontractors, purchase orders, invoices, change orders, and project documentation.
• Lead owner and project meetings, providing clear updates on schedule, budget, and key decisions.
• Build strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, trade partners, and internal teams.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
• Work with field leadership to maintain a safe jobsite and deliver quality work.
• Oversee punch lists, as-builts, warranties, and final project turnover.

What You'll Bring
