Job summary

German American seeks a seasoned Project Manager to lead high-impact strategic initiatives. You will own the project life cycle, build plans, align resources, and partner with teams and vendors to drive results and business outcomes.

Travel up to 50% is required, with strong focus on stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration across banking processes and systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, finance, engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in project management or coordination.
  • Experience managing budgets, timelines, scope, and stakeholder comms.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and SharePoint.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail with follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams.

Job description

We’re looking for a seasoned Project Manager to lead high-impact strategic initiatives across our organization. If you thrive on aligning people and processes and enjoy delivering projects that drive real business outcomes, this could be the perfect fit.

A Day in the Life:

You’ll own the project life cycle—building detailed project plans, aligning resources, managing timelines and budgets, and driving results. You’ll partner with internal teams and third-party vendors, keeping stakeholders informed every step of the way. This is an exciting role that allows you to learn key processes and technology systems in all areas of Heartland Bank while positively impacting project success and employee moral.

Travel Required: Up to 50% depending on your location in the Heartland Bank footprint.

What it Takes:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or project coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, timelines, scope, and stakeholder communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience coordinating with third-party vendors and cross-functional teams.
Bonus Points:
  • PMP or similar project management certification.
  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
