Overview

Leidos is currently seeking a driven, results oriented and motivated self-starter with a project and program management background to join the NISC team as a Project Manager in support of the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) surveillance and radar modernization effort. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific program goals and objectives. Duties may include ensuring that all projects run within scope, time, and budget constraints. This role also interfaces with task and functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel coordinating activities to bring new equipment online at FAA facilities. The candidate will work independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments and may assist other professionals with tasks and assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure all projects schedules are met and within budget constraints.
  • Provide timely/accurate responses to all technical and program inquiries received.
  • As required, assist in budget formulation activities utilizing FAA government databases.
  • As applicable, author required documents in support of program schedules.
  • Work independently to achieve day-to-day Program objectives which may significantly impact operational results or program objectives.
  • Update project schedules as required and provide input to FAA construction managers.
  • Organize impromptu telecons/meetings to ensure all project maintain schedule and cost.
  • Utilizing special client databases, provide programmatic input to other team members.
  • Perform investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Requires a BA or BS degree and 4 to 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to present ideas to diverse audiences
  • Proficient with MS Project and Excel (Macros)
  • Prior experience supporting the FAA
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of FAA radar technology
  • Technical background (Highly preferred)
  • Lean/Six Sigma Analysis skills
