Job summary

Piper Aircraft seeks an experienced Project Manager to take products from design concept to production. You will coordinate with management and stakeholders, develop requirements, schedules, budgets and risk plans, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery across cross-functional teams.

The role requires 2-3 years in project management or coordination, BA/BS in business or STEM, and familiarity with aerospace industry processes. Travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in business or STEM field or equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of project management/coordination experience.
  • Degree in Engineering or Business with Aeronautical/Aerospace discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs (MS Office, MS Project).

Responsibilities

  • Initiate, plan, execute, control and close assigned projects.
  • Conduct meetings and group decision making process.
  • Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project information to project team.
  • Keep Management and others informed about project status and issues.
  • Develop and maintain project governing documents.
  • Create program presentations & briefings.
  • Create and maintain integrated project schedules including coordination of resources.
  • Maintain oversight of assigned projects to ensure they stay within scope, schedule and budget.
  • Track and report cost and schedule performance.
  • Interface with vendors for procurement of parts and materials.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Assist with other related duties as required.

Job description

Coordinate with Management and other Stakeholders to implement new or modified products from design concept to production implementation. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and maintenance of requirements documents, schedules, manpower resource requirements and loading charts, budgets, risk, issues, opportunities, and other suchmanagement tools for the execution of assigned projects.

Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within aircraft design & manufacturing. Relies on the instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Education and Experience

Basic:

  • BA/BS in business/STEM field or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of project management/coordination experience

Preferred:

  • Degree in an Engineering or Business with Aeronautical/Aerospace discipline

General knowledge and skills associated with cross functional coordination in areas of design engineering, methodization, manufacturing planning, production control, supply chain management, manufacturing engineering, aircraft fabrication and assembly and quality management, testing and certification functions.

Requires comprehensive knowledge of Windows based computer programs such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
