Project Manager - Electrical Utilities / Power Infrastructure

Location: Texas

Compensation: $130,000-$175,000 base, depending on experience (plus bonus and ESOP)

I'm partnering with an established and growing Texas utility infrastructure contractor looking to add an experienced Project Manager to its team. This position is specifically focused on electrical utility construction and power infrastructure, so candidates should have direct experience managing underground electrical distribution, duct banks, conduit systems, utility installations, and related electrical infrastructure projects.

The Project Manager will be responsible for projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with field leadership, utility providers, municipalities, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical utility and infrastructure projects from startup through completion
• Oversee underground electrical distribution, duct banks, conduit installation, electrical vaults, manholes, and related utility infrastructure
• Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, schedules, procurement, and billing
• Coordinate electrical crews, Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, and project documentation
• Review electrical and civil drawings, specifications, quantities, and project scopes
• Coordinate with utility companies, municipalities, inspectors, engineers, owners, and other stakeholders
• Track field production, labor costs, project schedules, and profitability
• Support project safety, quality control, inspections, testing, and closeout
• Visit active project sites throughout Texas as required

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in electrical utility construction, power infrastructure, or heavy civil electrical projects
• Direct electrical utility construction experience is required
• Strong experience with underground electrical distribution, duct banks, conduit systems, electrical vaults, and utility infrastructure installation
• Experience working for a self-performing electrical utility or civil infrastructure contractor strongly preferred
• Knowledge of excavation, trenching, underground conduit installation, utility coordination, and electrical construction methods
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, change orders, subcontractors, procurement, and project financials
• Ability to read electrical drawings, civil plans, specifications, and utility layouts
• Experience coordinating with electrical utilities, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
• Strong communication, leadership, and field coordination skills
• Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Texas as needed

• Medium-voltage electrical distribution infrastructure
• Underground electrical duct bank and conduit installation

• Power distribution and utility service installations
• Experience coordinating electrical scopes alongside underground civil construction operations
