Job summary

GrayMatter is seeking a Project Manager to lead and deliver complex client-facing projects from planning through execution. You will ensure exceptional client satisfaction, manage budgets, and maintain strong relationships while guiding cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.

This onsite role in Tulsa, OK includes travel and requires 5–7 years of PM experience, a related degree, and PMP or similar certification as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field.
• 5–7 years of project management experience in a client-facing environment.
• Ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills.
• Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, PLC, MES and related industrial software is preferred.
• PMP certification or similar is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and within scope.
• Serve as the main client liaison and primary point of contact for project communications.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing concerns and managing expectations.
• Manage project scope, schedules, resources, financials, and change orders.
• Ensure projects meet or exceed Quoted Gross Margin (QGM) targets.
• Schedule and manage project resources up to 20 weeks in advance.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation (budgets, schedules, reports, meeting notes).
• Identify, mitigate, and manage project risks, issues, and escalation paths.
• Collaborate with technical teams to define tasks and execution strategies.
• Oversee subcontractors and third-party resources as needed.
• Ensure contractual obligations and documentation are met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support sales efforts by identifying upsell opportunities and participating in client engagements.
• Drive operational improvements, cost savings, and process efficiencies.
• Represent GrayMatter at client meetings, networking events, and industry functions as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field


• 5–7 years of project management experience, preferably in a client-facing environment


• Proven ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities


• Strong project management expertise (scope, schedule, financial control)


• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client relationship skills


• Financial acumen and negotiation capabilities


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and project scheduling tools


• Experience in industrial automation environments preferred


• PMP certification or similar is a plus


• Familiarity with SCADA, HMI, PLC, MES, and related industrial software is preferred
