Job summary

Barnard Construction is seeking a Project Manager for our Tucson operations. The role requires leadership of the project team, oversight of schedules and budgets, and close coordination with management and clients on complex heavy civil projects.

Candidates should possess a heavy civil construction background, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and a willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/undergraduate degree in engineering or construction-related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• Willing to travel and relocate domestically and internationally.
• 10+ years of heavy civil construction experience.
• Experience supervising multiple project engineers.
• Heavy Civil Construction background/experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Safety oriented; 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
• Strong work ethic and a team-player.
• Ability to access construction sites in varied climates.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct the project team, ensuring communication, coordination and follow-up to meet project goals.
• Maintain ongoing training and mentoring of project team.
• Directly responsible to senior management.
• Provide ongoing project information and reviews as required by management.
• Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
• Ensure scope of work, schedule, and budget are defined and understood by all stakeholders.
• Determine, control, and maintain overall project and discipline schedules and budgets.
• Track schedule and budget progress with milestones and take action to keep the project on track.
• Identify and secure approvals for changes in scope, budget and/or schedule.
• Maintain ongoing client communication and adjust deliverables as needed.

• Must be willing to travel and relocate. Project sites are located domestically and internationally, so relocation and/or travel are required.
