Job description

Project Manager

Location: Oconomowoc, WI
Reports to: CIO

Make Things Better, Together

At Sentry Equipment, we do more than complete projects. We work together to solve meaningful problems, improve how work gets done, and build solutions that support our customers and fellow employee-owners.

Sentry Equipment is a global provider of sampling and process improvement technologies that help protect people and the environment. We bring together engineering, manufacturing, and technical service expertise to help customers improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of their operations. Our approach is simple: what we do with engineering, we do with ourselves. We make things better together.

We are looking for a Project Manager who can bring structure to complex work, keep people aligned, and help turn plans into results. This role will manage technology projects from beginning to end while also helping us strengthen and grow our project management practices across the organization.

If you are someone who can see the big picture without losing sight of the details, communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders, and help teams move through change with confidence, this may be the right opportunity for you.

What You'll Do
Lead IT Projects from Start to Finish
  • Manage end-to-end software and hardware implementation projects, including planning, execution, testing, training, monitoring, and closure.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and solution architects to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish realistic timelines and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain clear project documentation, including project plans, status reports, change management activities, risk mitigation plans, and success measures.
  • Identify potential risks, issues, and dependencies early, then work collaboratively to address them.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings that keep teams aligned, informed, and focused on the work ahead.
  • Communicate project status, milestones, decisions, and dependencies to the appropriate audiences.
  • Monitor project budgets and resource allocation to help projects remain within established constraints.
  • Support employees through the people side of change by considering communication, training, adoption, and readiness throughout the project lifecycle.
Help Us Strengthen How We Manage Projects
  • Support the development and adoption of practical, consistent project management practices across Sentry.
  • Collaborate with other project leaders to improve the tools, processes, and behaviors that contribute to successful projects.
  • Help build Sentry's Project Management acumen, including repeatable processes, templates, and supporting resources.
  • Maintain an accessible library of project management tools, templates, and process documentation.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to employee-owners who lead projects or want to strengthen their understanding of project management best practices.
  • Encourage a continuous-improvement mindset by evaluating what worked, what did not, and what we can do better on the next project.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience managing projects of varying size and complexity in a corporate or enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems. Experience with Epicor Kinetic is a plus.
  • Familiarity with waterfall and Agile project methodologies.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Planner, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and document project issues, risks, and constraints.
  • A self-motivated working style and the ability to act with appropriate urgency.
  • Comfort working through change, complexity, and competing priorities.
  • The ability to shift confidently between strategic thinking and the small but important details that keep a project moving.
  • A friendly, appropriately assertive approach that helps create clarity and accountability while maintaining strong working relationships.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
What Success Looks Like

In this role, success means more than delivering a project on time. It means creating clarity, building trust, helping people understand what is changing, and leaving behind practices that make the next project even stronger.

You will be successful when:

  • Project teams understand the goals, scope, responsibilities, and next steps.
  • Risks and roadblocks are raised early and addressed collaboratively.
  • Stakeholders receive the right information at the right time.
  • Employees have the communication, training, and support they need to adopt new technology and processes.
  • Project documentation and lessons learned become useful resources, not paperwork that disappears after launch.
  • Sentry's project management practices become more consistent, scalable, and effective over time.
Why Sentry?

At Sentry, you are not just an employee. You are a employee-owner with an opportunity to contribute to the company's success and help shape how we work.

You will join a team that values:

  • Ownership: We take responsibility for our work and its impact on customers and fellow employee-owners.
  • Collaboration: We solve problems across departments and recognize that the best results come from working together.
  • Continuous improvement: We stay curious, learn from experience, and look for practical ways to make things better.
  • Meaningful work: Our products and services help customers operate more safely, efficiently, and responsibly.
  • Growth: We believe in sharing knowledge and helping employee-owners develop their skills and careers.
