Job Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle to ensure proper and timely completion while serving as the primary point of contact for customers, internal teams, and subcontractors. This role oversees client onboardings, installations, infrastructure work, and upgrades—ensuring all deliverables meet SmartChoice standards for quality, communication, and customer satisfaction. This position requires strong experience with wiring, cabling, and infrastructure-related projects, including the ability to read site diagrams, coordinate low‑voltage vendors, and validate site readiness for SmartChoice services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage projects including new client onboardings, installations, site builds, office relocations, and existing client upgrades.
  • Oversee structured cabling, low‑voltage wiring, fiber, and infrastructure to ensure site readiness for UCaaS, VoIP, networking, and security deployments.
  • Coordinate project schedules, installation timelines, milestones, and dependencies across multiple teams.
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders, providing status updates, cost tracking, equipment logistics, and installation progress.
  • Apply for and manage permits when required.
  • Conduct site surveys and discovery calls to understand customer UCaaS/VoIP/Security/Access Control requirements and infrastructure needs.
  • Provide clients with walkthroughs of the project lifecycle and milestone expectations.
  • Deliver end‑user training on services, features, and portal usage.
  • Serve as primary customer contact, responding to requests in a timely manner, including occasional after‑hours.
  • Perform bill reviews with customers and coordinate corrections with Billing.
  • Create and manage tasks to ensure proper documentation and track them through completion.
  • Track and escape installation or post‑installation issues, coordinating support when needed.
  • Prepare project plans outlining expectations and timelines for all stakeholders.
  • Create customer documentation to support transition from installation to long‑term support.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of project management experience in UCaaS, VoIP, telecommunications, or related technical fields.
  • Experience with cabling and large‑scale infrastructure projects, including coordinating low‑voltage vendors.
  • Ability to read and interpret site diagrams, wiring diagrams, and structured cabling layouts.
  • Experience managing multiple large projects in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with phone carrier provisioning, including porting and routing.
  • Experience provisioning clients and delivering end‑user training.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including WLAN, LAN, and WAN.
  • PMP certification is a plus.

  • This is an in‑office position with some on‑site responsibilities.
  • Ability to walk construction sites and inspect wiring or infrastructure work when required.
  • Occasional travel that could include overnight.
