This is a remote/field-based role. While the position is remote, we are seeking candidates who are based on the West Coast, preferably in California, Arizona, Oregon, Washington to best support the region.
Responsibilities
- Actively plan, organize, and align resources, both internal and external, in a cost-effective manner to win and execute against the project schedule.
- Maintain and develop effective relationships with customers both pre- and post-sale.
- Develop project schedules and track progress against milestones, with timely communications to internal and external stakeholders on project status.
- Identify, create and track scoped work; communicate scope changes to all key stakeholders, ensuring project completion and customer acceptance via all providers to the project.
- Manage all project documentation through the lifecycle, providing details to the service team or customer to set them up for success.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Solid experience or familiarity with project management processes and PMI standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain customer relationships with factual, timely action.
- Knowledge of automation technology, design for manufacturability, assembly, test, and manufacturing test development on industrial electro-mechanical products.
- Interpersonal skills to motivate, collaborate, and influence internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Understanding of data analysis theory, project cost estimation, and profitability analysis.
- Ability to plan complex schedules, manage scope, and mitigate risks effectively.
- Decision making and problem-solving skills to address competing priorities and unexpected situations.
- Understanding of business processes, order progression, and basic project-finance knowledge.
- Ability to handle routine customer situations and escalate when necessary.
- Experience using project management tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Ability to rapidly learn new technology and markets.
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- 1-3+ years experience as a Project Manager within the service high-tech industry or related field.
- BA degree in a technical discipline (preferred) or relevant equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness to be on-call and respond to customer emergencies; availability to work evenings and weekends or varying patterns as project needs require.
- Ability to travel 20-50% of the time; travel varies by region and project needs.
- English language proficiency as a minimum requirement.
- Certifications related to Project Management are preferred (PMP, CSCP, etc.).
