Job summary

Automated Systems of Tacoma is seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and closure of customer service projects in our Tacoma, Washington facility. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver on time, within budget, and meet contract scope with satisfied customers.

The role reports to the VP of Customer Service and requires strong communication, scheduling, and risk management skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Travel is expected at about 10% or more.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working experience in a project management capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and close projects for the Customer Service team.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Provide regular project updates to stakeholders on strategy and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, engineering, and leadership.

Competitive compensation range for onsite WA applicants is $100,000- $130,000 annually. All applicants are welcome to apply.

What can I expect in this role?

AST is seeking a Project Manager to join our Customer Service team. A Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution, and closure of projects. You will work cross-functionally to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, meeting requirements, and with satisfied customers. The Project Manager position will report to the VP of Customer Service and is a full-time position that is located onsite in Tacoma, Washington.

Key Qualifications:
  • Responsible for contractual project scopes, deliverables, and schedules.
  • Responsible for budget and revenue forecasts based on the scope of work, materials, and resource requirements.
  • Responsible for developing and managing detailed project schedules and work plans.
  • Provides regular project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Responsible for communicating effectively and clearly on deliverables and expectations to cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and leadership.
  • Utilizes industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project progress is on track and making necessary adjustments.
  • Identifies and resolves issues or conflicts within project teams.
  • Builds, develops, and grows business relationships vital to the success of the project and individuals involved.
  • Helps develop, manage, and implement AST project management standards.
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes, and ensures they are communicated and implemented within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure the success of projects, individuals, and company goals.
  • Willing to travel 10% or more as required.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years working experience in a project management capacity. Industrial machinery, regulatory, and pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field. MBA degree preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
  • Able to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, honest, and thorough.

  • Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
Eligibility Requirements:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.
