Job summary

HGA is seeking a Project Manager for its San Jose Interior Design practice. You will lead multiple projects from concept to completion, manage budgets and staffing, and ensure design quality and code compliance across phases.

Join a team that partners with science and technology clients, guiding collaborative teams and coordinating consultants for integrated delivery. ABachelor’s in Interior Design/Architecture is required, with licensure preferred and 8+ years’ experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Licensure preferred.
  • 8+ years of project management experience required.
  • Expertise with Project Management software and Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with TI and core and shell preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Independently manage multiple projects from concept through completion; develop and oversee work plans, budgets, schedules and staffing; ensure design quality and code compliance.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as primary client liaison, build trust, lead presentations, facilitate approvals, translate client goals into actionable strategies.
  • Team Coordination: Direct and mentor project teams, coordinate consultants and stakeholders for integrated delivery.
  • Documentation & Administration: Manage contracts, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders; maintain organized project documentation.

We are seeking a Project Manager to join our San Jose Interior Design practice. In this role, you will collaborate with our award-winning thought leaders on innovative projects that integrate thoughtful planning, research, sustainability, and architectural excellence. We're looking for someone who enjoys actively leading project teams, fostering a collaborative environment, and building long-term strategic relationships with clients in the science and technology sector.

In this role you will:

Project Leadership

  • Independently manage multiple projects from concept through completion.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture or other related field; Master's degree preferred
  • Licensure preferred
  • 8+ years of project management experience required
  • Expertise with Project Management software and Microsoft Office products is necessary
  • Professional experience honed on increasingly more complex projects required
  • Experience with TI and core and shell preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working on large-scale and multiple smaller-sized, challenging projects simultaneously
  • Team player
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients
  • Ability to leverage technical skills of your teams to deliver projects on budget and on schedule
  • Experience with LEED accreditation and Design/Build project delivery method is preferred
  • Proficiency with Revit, SketchUp and other industry accepted software is preferred

Salary Information:

The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA’s robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $110,000 - $132,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
