Feldman Architecture in San Francisco seeks a highly experienced Project Manager to lead small to medium residential teams, manage budgets, schedules, and contract requirements, and advance acclaimed projects.

The role emphasizes architectural detail, construction documentation, and collaboration with clients, consultants, and contractors. A hybrid schedule requires in-person work Tues–Thurs at the SF HQ.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree required.
  • 10+ years of architecture experience (primarily in single-family residential) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of Type V construction and construction means and methods; experience with DS/CS and detailing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a project team and manage schedules, budgets, and scope of work.
  • Coordinate between clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Develop and refine construction documents with strong detailing.
  • Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to drive projects to successful completion.

Job description

Founded in San Francisco in 2003, Feldman Architecture is a 40-person, award-winning architecture and interiors studio committed to creating soulful, meaningful work.Our studio is in search of a highly experienced, talented, detail-oriented individual to join our staff as a Project Manager.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative architect who shares our aesthetic sensitivity, commitment to environmental stewardship, and will push our team to continue to create acclaimed projects and spaces. This individual will embody Feldman Architecture’s core values: professionalism, teamwork, passion, and commitment, and has proven experience successfully managing small to medium teams on complex single-family residential projects. They have technical experience developing simple to complex details and deeply understand specifications and their role in construction documents. They are a highly organized project manager, able to track project fees and understand contract requirements in relation to budget, schedule, and scope of work.

The position is full time with a competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental, 401K, a transit plan, continuing education funds, and reimbursements for ARE and LEED AP exams.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree required.
  • 10+ years of architecture experience (primarily in single-family residential)
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational and management skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Excel, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of Type V construction and construction means and methods including appropriate products, specifications, and detailing. Experience in Construction Phase Services, liaising and communicating between clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Proven experience with building code/entitlement process and permitting process as it relates to single-family residential design.
  • Ability to lead a project team and manage project schedules, budgets, and track fees.
Location + Schedule:

Hybrid role, allowing for a flexible schedule, with a minimum of Tues-Thurs in person at our SF headquarters- a recently renovated Fire House off Polk Street.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $145,000
