Role Description

The Project Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Southern California, responsible for overseeing construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role plans and coordinates project schedules, manages budgets and contracts, and ensures that work complies with design documents, building codes, and safety standards. The Project Manager leads communication among owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams, facilitating meetings, resolving issues, and tracking progress against milestones. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing procurement and expediting of materials, reviewing inspections, coordinating logistics on and off the job site, preparing reports, and supporting accurate documentation and change management.

Qualifications
  • Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, budget control, and contract administration
  • Expeditor and Expediting skills to manage procurement, material tracking, and timely delivery to the job site
  • Inspection experience to coordinate and review quality, safety, and code compliance inspections
  • Logistics Management skills to organize equipment, materials, subcontractors, and site operations
  • Experience in commercial or institutional construction projects, preferably in a Project Manager or similar role
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Proficiency with construction management software, project scheduling tools, and standard office applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Knowledge of local building codes, DSA projects, safety regulations, and industry best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve problems, and deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize, and direct construction activities to achieve project objectives.
  • Initiate and maintain contact with owners and owners' representatives, and act as a liaison if needed.
  • Monitor project progress with respect to both financial and schedule performance, and control project through collaborative planning with superintendents and foremen.
  • Alert management of unsatisfactory project performance and potential problems, investigate, and develop correction plan(s).
  • Represent organization in project meetings.
  • Manage project performance data and formulate progress reports as requested organization executives.
  • Assist accounting dept. by cost coding and approving for payment all project subcontractor and supplier invoices.
  • Familiarity with Procore, P6 Scheduling software
Education

BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent work experience in building construction.

Work Experience

3 Minimum or more years project experience in construction environments (heavy civil preferred). Project management experience in construction is a requirement.
