Job summary

Overwatch Mission Critical in Texas seeks a Construction Project Manager to lead data center construction from planning through closeout. You will manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with safety and quality as priorities.

The role requires strong leadership, flawless communication, and the ability to coordinate with owners, designers, and vendors while maintaining project controls and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction management or general contracting experience.
  • 5+ years of mission-critical/data center PM overseeing design, implementation, and construction of security systems.
  • 5+ years of mission-critical/data center PM overseeing design, implementation, and construction of low voltage communications systems.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold a safe work environment onsite per the company safety program.
  • Manage all phases of data center construction from preconstruction to turnover.
  • Oversee budgets, schedules, and resources for timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Lead daily site operations and coordinate with owners, landlords, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule and ensure milestones are met.
  • Review contracts, change orders, pay apps, and project docs for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with design teams to align drawings and specs with standards.
  • Secure permits and approvals from local authorities.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and implement value engineering solutions.
  • Assist client in scoping and scheduling owner-direct vendors and consultants.
  • Monitor quality, safety, and compliance with requirements.
  • Drive subcontractor prequalification, bids, and scope reviews.
  • Prepare and submit final project accounting and budgets.
  • Oversee commissioning plans, inspections, and turnover activities.
  • Manage punch lists and project closeout processes.
  • Resolve conflicts and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Prepare progress reports highlighting schedule, budget, risks, and mitigations.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead and deliver complex data center construction projects from planning through closeout. This individual will be accountable for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and field teams while ensuring high-quality, safe, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Promotes and upholds a safe work environment for all workers and other personnel onsite by following the Overwatch safety program and industry safe practices.
  • Manage all phases of data center construction projects, from preconstruction through turnover.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Lead daily site operations and coordinate with owners, landlords, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule, ensuring critical milestones are met.
  • Review and approve contracts, change orders, pay applications, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure drawings, specifications, and standards are met.
  • Secure required permits and approvals from local authorities.
  • Conduct constructability reviews and implement value engineering solutions where appropriate.
  • Assist the client in identifying, scoping, buying-out, and scheduling all Owner-direct vendors and consultants.
  • Monitor and enforce quality standards, safety protocols, and compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Drive subcontractor prequalification, bid solicitation, scope reviews, and award recommendations.
  • Prepare and submit final project accounting and budget.
  • Oversee commissioning plans, inspections, and final turnover activities.
  • Manage punch lists, substantial completion, and project closeout processes.
  • Resolve conflicts, negotiate issues, and maintain positive relationships with project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to leadership, highlighting schedule, budget, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of construction management or general contracting experience.
  • 5+ years of mission-critical/data center project management strongly preferred overseeing design, implementation, and construction of Security systems.
  • 5+ years of mission-critical/data center project management strongly preferred overseeing design, implementation, and construction of low voltage communications systems.
  • Deep knowledge of commercial construction practices, sequencing, and scheduling.
  • Strong history of managing low voltage construction including data, fiber, security, and controls systems.Working knowledge of these systems and ability to coordinate with design, owner, landlord, trade, and other stakeholder teams is required.
  • Strong cost control and forecasting skills.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and leadership abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to understand financial details, tie them to project outcomes, and communicate effectively.
  • Comfortable leading diverse cross-functional teams and reporting to senior leadership.
