Job summary

Aspen is seeking an experienced Project Manager in Reno, NV to own full lifecycle execution from handoff to closeout. You will coordinate field operations, schedules, and budgets to ensure on-time delivery and strong margins, while managing contracts, costs, and client relationships.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in civil/construction project management, proficiency with Procore/HCSS, and a proven ability to lead teams, forecast costs, and deliver documentation for claims and turnover.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience in civil construction, site development, or concrete.
  • Strong understanding of job costing, budgeting, and financial forecasting.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with construction software (HCSS, Procore, or similar).
  • Experience with accounting software (Sage or comparable).

Responsibilities

  • Manage change orders, billing, and cost recovery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field leadership.
  • Lead lookahead planning with superintendents.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Remove constraints that impact schedule and production.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and ensure alignment across all parties.
  • Represent Aspen professionally in all interactions.
  • Manage contracts, subcontracts, and project documentation.
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Oversee RFIs, submittals, and change management processes.
  • Ensure proper documentation for claims, delays, and scope changes.
  • Work closely with superintendents to align field execution with project strategy.
  • Support field teams in problem-solving, logistics, and coordination.
  • Stay engaged in the field and ensure resources are available.

Key Responsibilities

Project Ownership & Execution
  • Own the full lifecycle of projects from handoff through closeout
  • Align field operations, schedule, and budget to ensure successful execution
  • Maintain control of project scope, sequencing, and deliverables
  • Drive decision-making to keep projects moving forward
Financial Management & Cost Control
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking
  • Monitor job cost reports, production, and margin performance

Planning, Scheduling & Coordination
  • Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with field leadership
  • Lead lookahead planning (2-week and 6-week) with superintendents
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors
  • Remove constraints that impact schedule and production
Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, general contractors, and key stakeholders

Contract Management & Documentation

Field Collaboration & Support
  • Work closely with superintendents to align field execution with project strategy
  • Support field teams in problem-solving, logistics, and coordination
  • Ensure field operations have the resources needed to perform efficiently
  • Stay engaged in the field — not just behind a desk
Risk Management
  • Identify project risks related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality
  • Proactively address issues before they impact performance
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards
Project Closeout
  • Oversee final billing, retention, and financial reconciliation
  • Ensure completion of punch lists, as-builts, and turnover documentation
  • Deliver clean project closeout with strong client satisfaction
