Position Overview

ReNuke Services is seeking a Project Manager for our client"s site in Raleigh, NC! The Project Manager II (PM‑II) has single point accountability or can be under the general direction of a Project Director or Senior PM. The PM‑II is responsible for management or assisting management of all phases of project planning and execution to ensure project success factors are met. The PM‑II is assigned a portfolio of ‘White’ or ‘Green’ ranked projects per the Project Management Center of Excellence Risk‑Informed Project Ranking Process. Projects focus on transmission grid interconnections. The PM‑II typically manages a portfolio of assigned projects with low to moderate levels of risk that impact various levels of the company, senior management, or external agencies. The PM‑II serves as a unifying agent providing leadership, decision‑making, management, guidance, coordination, and control of overall projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Create / Staff / Lead Project Team (25%). Provide leadership, oversight, direction, delegation, and coordination with internal and external organizations providing services such as Development, Engineering, Project Controls, Estimating, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Legal, EHS, QA/QC, Operations, Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Regulatory, Security, Fuels, Transmission, etc. Guide matrixed team members daily, and interface with functional leaders to resolve placement, development, and conflict issues.
  • Establish and maintain communications among stakeholders (25%). Structure, lead, or assist in project‑related meetings to ensure open communication, prepare and report monthly project status, kickoff meetings, weekly and monthly required communication, and assure project plans and reporting are developed and communicated according to PMCoE Standards and business‑unit procedures. Effectively communicate with governance team.
  • Plan assigned project(s) (25%). Champion the process of project planning including scope and work definition, estimating, schedule formation, monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start‑up and commissioning plans, and integration processes.
  • Execute projects according to plans within approved scope, cost, and schedule constraints (25%). Include stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions, constraints, deliverables, work breakdown structure, schedule, external communication, regulatory strategy, procurement strategy, contractor and supplier strategy, resource plans, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, data management plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project close‑out.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree.
  • 5 Years of project‑management experience (9 years in lieu of a degree).
  • Experience with transmission engineering and/or project management.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency to demonstrated expertise in project management, decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving.
  • Project‑related work experience in risk management, project leadership, strong collaboration, oversight.
  • Utility business‑unit experience as determined by BU (regulated or commercial energy services).
  • Construction management knowledge.
  • Proficiency to expert in project‑related scheduling and cost controls.
  • Masters degree (Project Management / Business Administration).
  • Experience with transmission grid planning, interconnection agreements, formal letter agreements with third parties.
Professional Certifications
  • PMP, PE, Certified Associate of Project Management.
