Responsibilities

  • Lead capital improvement, maintenance, and infrastructure projects within a district energy and central utility plant environment.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, cost estimates, scopes of work, procurement plans, and construction documentation.
  • Coordinate project activities with plant leadership, operations and maintenance teams, engineering groups, contractors, vendors, procurement, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project execution from planning and construction through commissioning and closeout, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Manage subcontractors, field personnel, and third-party contractors while maintaining quality, safety, and operational requirements.
  • Review and coordinate RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, invoices, and project reporting.
  • Oversee financial forecasting, cost control, budget tracking, and progress reporting throughout project lifecycles.
  • Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and actively promote safe work practices across all project activities.
  • Review engineering and construction documents, including mechanical, electrical, process, piping, controls, and architectural drawings.
  • Support project implementation involving utility infrastructure such as boilers, chillers, turbines, electrical systems, controls, distribution networks, and associated plant equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with plant operations personnel to minimize operational impacts during project execution.
  • Provide technical leadership and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

About the Position:

Allied Resources is seeking a Project Manager to support capital projects and infrastructure improvements at a large-scale district energy facility in Pearl River, NY. This role will oversee projects supporting utility and energy generation assets, including steam, chilled water, electrical distribution, and power generation systems serving a multi-building commercial campus. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction project management, industrial utilities, energy facilities, or central plant operations. Job Responsibilities:

  • Experience with project budgeting, scheduling, cost estimating, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Knowledge of central utility plant systems, district energy facilities, power generation assets, boilers, chillers, turbines, electrical infrastructure, and related systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as Primavera, Maximo, or similar platforms.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, engineering, management, vendors, and contractors.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work on-site in Pearl River, NY and perform occasional after-hours or emergency project support as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience managing industrial construction projects, utility infrastructure projects, or energy facility operations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent capital projects in active operating facilities.
  • Design-Build project delivery experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or similar industry certifications.
  • Ability to obtain PMP certification if not currently certified.
