Job summary

LKQ Corporation is seeking a Project Manager to lead internal projects from initiation to completion in a fast-paced environment. You will organize teams, set milestones, allocate resources, and manage budgets while coordinating with stakeholders across the company.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of related experience, with PMI certification preferred. Strong communication, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Plan, monitor, and manage internal projects from initiation through completion.

• Handle multiple projects with task delegation, oversight, and resource allocation.
• Negotiate costs, perform requirements estimation, and budget management.
• Report project status and monitor progress of all team members and stakeholders.
• Advise leadership on key issues affecting completion, budget or results.
• Identify obstacles, analyze risks, and implement viable solutions.
• Assist with end-user and internal documentation for systems and processes.
• Initiate and support continual quality improvement.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties

• Plan, monitor, and manage internal projects from initiation through completion.
• Organize project teams, assign individual responsibilities, and determine resource requirements.
• Formulate project scope and delivery strategies and establish milestones/schedules.
• Handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.
• Negotiate costs, perform project requirements, estimation, and budget management.
• Report project status and monitor the progress of all team members and stakeholders.
• Advise leadership of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or other results.
• Identify obstacles, analyze, and find viable solutions to problems and risks to the completion of the project.
• Assist with end-user and internal documentation of systems, processes, and projects alike for current and future reference.
• Initiate and support continual quality improvement.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

3+ years of related experience required; Still acquiring higher-level knowledge and skills.

Preferred Requirements

PMI certification.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
• Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc.
• Ability to create, maintain, and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and PowerPoint presentations to support business objectives.
• Regularly uses moderately complex oral and written skills.
• May train others in functional areas, interact with others, and make presentations to departments or middle management.
• Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive, and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.
• Decisions generally affect own job or assigned functional area.
• Results are defined; sets personal own goals and determines how to achieve results with few or no guidelines to follow; supervisor/manager provides broad guidance and overall direction.
• Handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously with moderate complexity.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently. Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements). Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
