Job summary

QCS Staffing Ltd. seeks a Senior Project Manager for a US-based Life Sciences expansion project in New York. The role covers design through construction, with responsibility for schedule, budget, and permitting, on an initial 3-month contract.

You will join a dynamic team reporting to an Associate Director or higher and drive milestones to completion. Ideal candidates will bring Green Field design and construction experience, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to resolve issues

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage the project schedule and budget, and oversee the permitting process.
• Provide senior level leadership in planning, budgeting, and management of major capital projects from conceptualization through close out.

Project Manager – US, New York – Initial 3-Month Contract – Life Sciences

The USA is a hive of activity for the Life Sciences Sector at present with global players setting up new and expanding existing manufacturing facilities all over the World. An exciting assignment has arisen to support a global pharmaceutical organisation on a major expansion project based in the picturesque New York, on an initial 3 month contract.

What you’ll deliver:

The contingent Senior Project Manager is expected to take custody of the project mid-stream, become productive within the first two weeks, drive the design milestones to completion, and hand the project back in a fully documented state at the end of the term. The assigned Senior Project Manager must have direct experience managing projects through both the design and construction phases of projects up to $30MM, including ownership of the project schedule and budget, and management of the permitting process. Reporting to an Associate Director or higher, the Senior Project Manager (SPM) provides senior level leadership in planning, budgeting, and overall management of major capital projects and initiatives from conceptualization through design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and close out.

Experience required:

• Major Research Project, Green Field Design and Construction experience preferred
• Experience, knowledge, and a track record in project management techniques, concepts, principles, and standards.
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with all levels both within and outside the company in order to establish credibility with professionals on the project teams.
• Thorough understanding of construction techniques.
