Job summary

Communications Engineering Company (CEC) seeks a Project Manager to oversee technology projects from inception to completion. You will coordinate sales, engineering, and operations to deliver on time and within budget, manage risk, and ensure customer satisfaction.

This role emphasizes safety, documentation, and proactive communication with stakeholders. Responsibilities include leading kickoff meetings, maintaining project plans, and guiding teams through site assessments while ensuring quality

bOBJECTIVE:

As a Project Manager you will be an integral part of the CEC team. The Project Manager leads projects to ensure optimal performance and peak efficiencies while overseeing completion of developed company and team goals. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to following:

  • Project Notification:

o Ensures customer is contacted within 48 hours of project award.

o Reviews overall project objectives and milestones with customer and establishes ongoing communication strategy.

o Ensures all required project information has been provided to Operations from Sales and Engineering.

o Assigns project related tasks within ConnectWise in relation to project timelines.

  • Project Information Review: Reviews all information with key personnel to address questions and unknowns.
  • Project Planning

o Evaluates potential probabilities, impact, and solutions. Coordinates resources, site access, PPE requirements and equipment.

o Creates a project plan with specific milestones to be able to achieve overall project budgets and timelines.

o Assists in the creation of Gantt charts, Risk Register, Site Safety Plans as required.

o Adjust as necessary the project plan and communicate any changes for the duration of the project lifecycle to all stakeholders.

  • Project Review with Customer: Reviews system functionality, schedule, and plan with customer. Oversees site walks to verify locations and identify safety hazards.
  • Project Kick-Off Meeting: Lead project Kick-Off meeting and communicate the project plan and reviews all project milestones. Oversees site walks to verify locations and hazards with project team.
  • Executing Project Plan:

o Performs consistent site evaluations, safety insights and CEC quality as ensures project plan compliance. Mentor and correct disciplines, when possible, report recoverences when necessary.

o Communicate changes in the SOW and scope changes iteratively. Adapt project plan as needed.

o Ensure project punch list system testing is conducted, coordinate training and schedule documentation.

o Assists CEC Sales/Engineering in pre-sales functions by sharing and/or compiling specific customer knowledge and design.

o Assist with onsite training and mentoring of lesson experienced team members.

o Work alongside the project team to ensure safety and quality objectives are met by adhering to industry codes, standards, and best practices. Project Lead responsibilities as assigned.

  • Closing the Project: Perform customer walk-throughs. Submit documentation, obtain customer sign off and verify completion on all assigned projects.
  • Post Project Meetings: Provide input on project management processes, procedures, tools, and best practice improvements. Give recommendations to Sales and Engineering on improvement areas as and projects successes.
  • Service: Respondible to support Service ticket completion as assigned and volunteer support to CEC's 24/7 On Call rotation.
  • This is a safety sensitive position.
  • Other Duties as Assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Project Manager I leads project team while they are working on assigned projects.

IMMULATION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of technology experience within CEC or similar company.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience within CEC or similar company.
  • 2 safety related certifications.
  • 1 Industry certification (i.e. NICET, BICS, CTS, etc.)
  • Industry certifications and trainings can be obtained during the first year of employment to meet minimum qualifications when applicable.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and with staff at remote locations as well as customers.
  • Strong organizational, conflict-resolution, problem-solving, and creative skills as well as the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment using accurate and timely analysis.
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • General knowledge of communication systems, including audio, video, security, fire alarm, wireless, and data networks.
  • PC proficiency is essential (Windows environment) and strong working knowledge of Excel.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Problemsolving, creative skills and the ability to execute sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.

The employee is required to be able to climb ladders up to 12 feet high or be in a lift to extended heights.
