Job summary

Kion Group AG in Grand Rapids, MI and Atlanta, GA seeks a Project Manager to lead material handling implementations from initiation to closure. Define scope, develop plans, schedules and budgets, and ensure alignment with strategic goals.

You will govern projects, lead diverse teams, monitor risks, and communicate with stakeholders to drive on-time delivery and strict cost controls, while managing changes and vendor performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in material handling industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong Project Management background.
  • Team leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring alignment with goals.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, developing comprehensive project plans with activities, resources and timelines.
  • Lead development and maintenance of integrated project schedules, risk registers, and budgets.
  • Establish and maintain project governance structures with clear roles and decision processes.
  • Lead and motivate project teams to foster a high-performing environment.
  • Develop and implement resource management plans for optimal allocation.
  • Monitor progress, identify critical paths, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage dependencies between tasks and ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure contractual schedule alignment with stakeholders throughout the life cycle.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans for all stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts.
  • Provide regular project status reports highlighting progress, risks and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to ensure alignment.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance and changes.
  • Review and implement contract management plans for compliance.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and cost controls.
  • Forecast costs and resources for budgeting and planning.
  • Prepare financial reports and insights on project performance.
  • Identify risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies.
