Project Manager – Hotel Technical MaintenanceLocation: South Florida | Hybrid with international travel up to 40%Role SnapshotWe are seeking a Project Manager, Hotel Technical Maintenance to manage and coordinate technical maintenance, equipment lifecycle, and upgrade projects across a fleet environment. This role will oversee projects involving hotel technical systems including laundry and catering equipment, recreational water facilities, domestic piping, and other accommodation-related systems.The Project Manager will work across shipboard and shoreside teams to develop project scopes, coordinate execution, track schedules and costs, manage vendors and riding crews, and ensure technical initiatives are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with operational and public health requirements.The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation combined with project management experience in a maritime, cruise, shipyard, engineering, or similarly complex operating environment. Approximately 10–15% travel to vessels, shipyards, and project locations is required.About the OpportunityThis role will manage multiple technical maintenance and lifecycle initiatives from planning through execution and closeout. Projects may include equipment replacements, system upgrades, corrective maintenance programs, drydock work, and other technical improvements supporting hotel operations.The Project Manager will maintain visibility into equipment condition and maintenance requirements across assigned vessels, working closely with shipboard leadership to identify priorities and translate technical needs into executable project plans. This includes developing scopes, coordinating resources, tracking milestones, supporting capital planning, and resolving issues that could impact schedule or operations.Success in this position requires someone who can comfortably bridge technical and project management responsibilities. The Project Manager will coordinate across Engineering, Hotel Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Safety & Environmental, Risk Management, vendors, and shipboard teams while maintaining clear ownership of project progress, documentation, costs, and deliverables.Key ResponsibilitiesManage hotel technical maintenance, equipment lifecycle, replacement, and upgrade projects from initial planning through execution and closeout.Develop and coordinate project scopes, schedules, work plans, resource requirements, and execution strategies.Manage technical projects occurring during vessel operations, drydocks, maintenance periods, and other planned project windows.Maintain visibility into the condition and performance of hotel technical equipment through vessel assessments, maintenance data, and communication with shipboard leadership.Coordinate troubleshooting and corrective action for technical equipment issues, including time-sensitive or unplanned maintenance requirements.Support long-term capital and lifecycle planning by tracking equipment condition, replacement requirements, project priorities, and upcoming drydock schedules.Develop project scopes and supporting documentation for capital funding requests related to lifecycle, replacement, and upgrade initiatives.Track project costs, forecasts, requisitions, and financial performance to ensure work remains aligned with approved budgets.Review technical requisitions for scope, operational need, completeness, and pricing while coordinating required approvals.Research and evaluate replacement solutions for aging, obsolete, or high-maintenance equipment, considering technical requirements, cost, reliability, and lifecycle impact.Coordinate contractors, vendors, OEMs, and Riding Crew Teams supporting vessel maintenance and technical projects.Manage project logistics, materials, equipment, spare parts, and other requirements in partnership with Procurement, Supply Chain, and Logistics.Track project milestones, risks, open technical issues, and dependencies, communicating progress and escalating issues that may impact execution.Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, spare-parts utilization, maintenance efficiency, and overall project cost.Partner with shipboard leadership, fleet management, Hotel Operations, Engineering, Safety & Environmental, Risk Management, and other stakeholders throughout project execution.Support technical initiatives related to energy efficiency, public health compliance, workplace safety, and equipment performance.Maintain accurate project documentation, including scopes, schedules, budgets, technical specifications, equipment records, status reports, and closeout documentation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.3+ years of experience managing or coordinating technical maintenance, equipment replacement, lifecycle, upgrade, or capital projects.Experience within a cruise line, maritime organization, shipping company, shipyard, classification society, or similarly complex technical operating environment strongly preferred.Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, piping, and other technical systems.Understanding of shipboard operations, maintenance environments, and the complexities associated with executing technical projects on active vessels.Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, technical teams, schedules, budgets, materials, and project deliverables.Familiarity with maritime and public health requirements, including SOLAS, classification requirements, and USPH standards.Strong project planning, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities while maintaining attention to schedule, cost, quality, and technical requirements.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across technical, operational, and business teams.Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project or equivalent project management tools, and maintenance management systems such as AMOS.Ability and willingness to travel up to 40%About TalentoHCTalentoHC is a leading human capital consultancy and talent solutions firm focused on helping organizations build high-performing teams.
