Job summary

Aspire Audio Video Solutions in Washington, DC, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee networking, lighting, shading, audio, video, and automation projects. You will collaborate with clients, architects, interior designers, and our internal team to ensure timely, high-quality delivery from kickoff to completion.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in a related field, proven PM experience in residential AV, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with project management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field required or preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the residential AV industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning: define scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and resources.
  • Client Engagement: serve as primary contact, understand requirements, manage expectations.
  • Team Coordination: lead technicians, designers, and subcontractors; assign tasks and monitor progress.
  • Budget Management: track expenses and keep projects within budget; flag deviations.
  • Quality Control: enforce QA measures; perform inspections and testing.
  • Risk Management: identify risks, develop contingency plans, and mitigate issues.
  • Communication: ensure clear status updates with clients and internal teams.
  • Documentation: maintain plans, contracts, change orders, and communications.
  • Vendor Management: source equipment, negotiate contracts, ensure timely delivery.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: capture lessons learned and improve delivery processes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
PMP certification

Project Manager
Job Overview

As a Project Manager at Aspire Audio Video Solutions, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the successful execution of networking, lighting, shading, audio, video, and automation projects. You will collaborate closely with clients, architects, interior designers, custom home builders, and our internal team to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality solutions. Your role will involve coordinating project resources, managing timelines, and maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Understand client requirements, provide expert advice, and manage client expectations effectively.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate cross-functional project teams, including technicians, designers, and subcontractors. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to project plans and timelines.
  • Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring projects are delivered within the allocated budget. Identify and address any budget deviations promptly.
  • Quality Control: Maintain rigorous quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions. Conduct regular inspections, testing, and verification to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks and issues proactively. Develop contingency plans to address potential obstacles and ensure project success.
  • Communication: Facilitate clear and timely communication among all project stakeholders. Conduct regular project status meetings, prepare progress reports, and provide timely updates to clients and internal management.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, contracts, change orders, and client communications. Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to source necessary equipment and materials. Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Post-Project Evaluation: Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement. Provide feedback to internal teams to enhance project delivery processes and methodologies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in the residential AV industry.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
  • Knowledge of automation systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • PMP certification (preferred).
