Job summary

Gordon James in Minnesota is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead luxury custom home builds and renovations from pre-construction through delivery, ensuring craftsmanship, client satisfaction, and adherence to budget. You will coordinate with clients, architects, and designers, manage schedules, crews and vendors, and mentor junior project staff while upholding the firm's high standards.

This role offers a high-touch, concierge client experience and opportunities to shape signature

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients, architects, and designers during planning and estimating phases.
  • Review construction documents, specifications, and budgets for completeness and accuracy.
  • Develop detailed project schedules and sequencing plans.
  • Participate in value engineering while maintaining design intent and quality standards.
  • Oversee all phases of construction for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure quality and performance.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Maintain strict adherence to project budgets, schedules, and scope.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the build process.
  • Provide proactive communication, updates, and solutions.
  • Ensure a high-touch, concierge-level client experience consistent with luxury expectations.
  • Track and manage project budgets, cost reports, and change orders.
  • Approve invoices and ensure accurate job costing.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Enforce high standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Conduct walkthroughs and punch list processes to ensure flawless delivery.
  • Uphold company reputation for excellence in luxury construction.
  • Work closely with internal teams including estimating, design, and leadership.
  • Mentor assistant project managers or field staff as needed.
  • Foster strong relationships with trusted subcontractors and trade partners.
