Job summary

MDM Recruiting is seeking a hands-on Project Manager to lead industrial renewable energy projects in Madison, WI, with hybrid work and relocation assistance available. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in renewable energy, wastewater, utilities, ethanol, oil & gas, or industrial process industries.
  • 5+ years of construction or field execution experience in related industries.
  • Proven ability to manage complex industrial projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from kickoff through installation, startup, and closeout.
  • Establish and manage scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and performance expectations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project work plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate engineering, construction, procurement, contractors, and field teams.
  • Review construction and engineering documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Manage project risks, change orders, and project reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee site operations including safety, scheduling, contractor coordination, inventory, and asset management.
  • Ensure compliance with technical, environmental, and safety standards.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership regarding project status, budget, and milestones.
  • Travel to project sites as needed throughout the U.S.

PROJECT MANAGER - HYBRID - MADISON, WI - RELOCATION ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE

Our client is a Wisconsin-based renewable energy engineering and construction company specializing in turnkey anaerobic digestion and renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities. The organization partners with industrial, agricultural, municipal, and food processing clients to transform organic waste streams into clean, sustainable energy solutions. Their projects support waste diversion, carbon reduction, and the production of renewable energy, vehicle fuel, and other valuable byproducts.

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager to lead industrial renewable energy projects from kickoff through commissioning and installation. This individual will oversee project execution, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of engineering knowledge, construction management experience, and leadership capability within industrial process, utility, wastewater, energy, or related environments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience within renewable energy, wastewater, utilities, ethanol, oil & gas, or industrial process industries
  • 5+ years of construction or field execution experience in related industries
  • Proven ability to manage complex industrial projects from concept through completion
  • Strong understanding of construction management principles and industrial manufacturing/process systems
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Background in scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and contract negotiation
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Proficiency with MS Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction/project management software
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
