Job description

Bell Design Group is a vibrant, idea-driven architecture and design studio headquartered in Los Angeles, with additional locations in Spain and Argentina. We’re a diverse and collaborative team that thrives on creativity, curiosity, and craft. Our work spans a wide range of typologies—from boutique hotels and affordable housing to production studios, tech campuses, civic and non-profit work, adaptive reuse, and master plans. Every project is an opportunity to push boundaries and create meaningful spaces. We value honesty in our process, transparency in collaboration, and respect in every exchange. At BDG, we believe great design emerges from dialogue, discipline, and shared purpose – and we seek those who are inspired to push boundaries, learn deeply and continually, and build with integrity.

We’re currently seeking a Project Manager to join our studio. This is a full-time role for a passionate individual who brings technical expertise, managerial excellence, and leadership to the table. You’ll work closely with Project Architects and design teams to lead the development of architectural projects and ensure excellence from concept through construction. Our projects are located across California and North America; there may be local and/or out-of-state travel for meetings and job site visits required. The Project Manager will also be part of the studio leadership and is expected to engage in the activities and advancement of the studio, as well as providing support, mentorship and training for junior staff.

While we are seeking Project Managers to work on a broad range of project types, having expertise in affordable housing is a plus.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee all phases of project development, including planning, contracts, design coordination, detailing, consultants, and construction administration.
  • Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and deliverables to meet client expectations and firm standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards.
  • Participate in firm-wide QAQC
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Solve complex design and technical challenges with creativity and precision
  • Represent the studio in client meetings, presentations, and agency reviews
  • Engage in studio culture, leadership, and continuous improvement

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch)
  • Architectural license preferred but not required
  • 8-10+ years of experience, with at least 3+ years as a Project Manager
    • Experience must also include carrying projects of both large and small scale from design concept through completion
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro, and Microsoft Office. Sufficient skills with BIM (ArchiCAD preferred), AutoCAD, and other drafting software. Ajera knowledge is a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of code analysis, construction methods, engineering systems, agency processing, construction detailing, and contract administration.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for problem-solving and innovation
  • A proactive, resourceful mindset and a commitment to craft
  • Attention to both detail and big-picture concepts
  • Ability to resolve complex issues and develop solutions
  • Excellent foresight

What You’ll Receive

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Matching retirement investment plans
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick days
  • Parental leave benefits
