Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors is seeking a Project Manager in Longview, TX to lead capital and expense projects from concept to startup. You will manage planning, costs, and schedules while coordinating across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance teams.

Ideal candidates hold a B.S./M.S. in engineering and PMP/PE is preferred. 3+ years of relevant experience and a strong safety mindset are required to drive value and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills; proven leadership ability.
• Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive safety and process discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, resourcing, cost control and schedule to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
• Coordinate development and maintenance of project plans and documents.
• Interface with EPCOM teams and contractors to ensure alignment and performance.
• Apply change management controls and monitor budget and schedule deviations; report progress to stakeholders.

What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: The Project Manager provides leadership throughout all phases of a capital and expense project and is responsible for maximizing the project value by executing the project within budget, on schedule and ensuring that the required operability is achieved. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and executing studies and capital and expense projects to meet specified project objectives. Interaction with operations, technology, business, and other corporate support organizations as well as capital program management is a key component of the job requirements in Longview, TX.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Manages the project planning, resourcing, cost control, and schedule to deliver the investment in accordance with the business objectives and customer requirementsCoordinate the development and maintenance of project plans and associated documentsRegularly evaluates & mitigates issues that create project risk to meeting project objectivesClosely tracks and communicates project progress to stakeholdersDevelops scope of 3rd party process units and arranges technical support as required in construction and start upEnsure involvement and coordination of appropriate personnel in the development and implementation of capital projects from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance (EPCOM)Interface with engineering and construction contractorsUses of strict change management protocol to manage scope & schedule impactsWork with Project Controls personnel to monitor, report, and document the progress of work and provide feedback on budget and schedule deviationsProvide direction to Project Team on schedule and cost related issuesServe on and lead teams associated with work process improvement and project related issuesConsider safety, cost and schedule in overall project plan to ensure objectives are met at best overall valueResponsible and accountable for the project from concept to startupIdeal BackgroundEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.Certification: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.Experience: Requires 3+ years of relevant project management experience in capital projects and turnaround management.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Managing internal engineering and construction resources to scope, engineer, procure and construct on-site projects.Candidate should have an intimate understanding of capital processes, from project definition through plant start-up.Candidate must have outstanding communication and coordination skills and demonstrated team leadership skills.Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a fast paced environmentMust demonstrate a commitment to safety and dedication to implementing safe capital facilities.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.Some travel may be required up to 10-15%Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
