Job Summary
Hill York is seeking a Project Manager with HVAC experience who will be responsible for the coordination, planning, scheduling, execution, and completion of retrofit, new construction, and design build projects. This role involves coordinating manpower, material, equipment, and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to specifications, and managing projects within budget and schedule constraints. Compliance with safety policies is a key aspect of this position.
Essential Functions
- Visit job sites to monitor progress and resolve field problems as well as track manpower.
- Develop cost‑effective plans and schedules for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources.
- Collaborate with HVAC Sales Consultants and the Operations department for guidance and support, including technical direction.
- Strengthen customer relationships.
- Document technical requirements, develop and implement project plans, and facilitate efficient implementation of work scope.
- Manage multiple projects while meeting or exceeding stated deadlines and bid estimates.
- Pre‑plan and coordinate material and completion of required inspections.
- Manage and coordinate field manpower with project requirements.
- Understand contracts, prepare estimates, change orders and proposals for customers.
- Meet with inspectors at job sites for field inspections.
- Communicate on a regular basis with the customer.
- Protect the company by identifying and avoiding risk.
- Document job progress, changes, delays, submittals, RFIs, etc.
- Responsible for controlling the financial position of the project including billings, change orders and managing material and sub‑contractors.
- Attend weekly on‑site general contractor coordination meetings.
- Support the sales team and provide detailed information to help grow the future business.
Qualifications
- Minimum four years of relevant experience.
- Experience in managing multiple projects.
- Knowledge of building plans.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Engineers, Project Managers, and General Contractors.
- Ability to walk construction job sites 30‑40% of time.
- Ability to drive to various job sites on a regular basis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project or equivalent.
- Demonstrates excellent attention to detail.
- Must be self‑motivated with excellent time‑management skills.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the project team, including C‑Suite.
- Pipefitting experience a plus.
- HVAC experience required.
