Job summary

Benchmark Construction Company is seeking a Construction Project Manager in Pennsylvania to lead projects from bid prep to ribbon cutting. You will drive on-time completion, uphold quality, and ensure profitability while coordinating field and office activities with stakeholders.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in construction management, 5+ years of PM experience, and a strong safety and regulatory understanding to keep worksites compliant and productive.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field—or equivalent hands‑on experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Project Manager in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep knowledge of construction principles, engineering practices, management strategies, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Strong planning and decision-making skills to navigate challenges and keep projects on track.
  • Skilled at finding solutions and reaching agreements that benefit all stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety standards and legal issues to ensure compliance and maintain secure worksites.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are completed on time, uphold top-notch quality, and achieve profitability goals.
  • As a brand ambassador, exceed client expectations, embodying and enhancing our values and reputation.
  • Coordinate field activities seamlessly with office and administrative duties for efficient project execution.
  • Lead opening of new projects, organizing start-up paperwork, and guiding projects from groundbreaking to ribbon cutting.
  • Work collaboratively with the project superintendent, providing leadership to ensure construction aligns with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Assure timely completion and submission of monthly payment applications, ensuring prompt payment and follow-up on the payment process.
  • Review and oversee the distribution of all project documents, including shop drawings, addendums, and RFIs.
  • Participate in business development activities as required to contribute to the organization's growth.
  • Demonstrate understanding of OSHA regulations, and monitor, and enforce safety practices to maintain a secure workplace.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions, including scheduling, engineering, material control, and direction of administrative staff.

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality process throughout the project, ensuring adherence to standards and successful project conclusion.
  • Documentation: Manage the as-built drawing process and O&M process, ensuring accurate documentation for distribution to stakeholders.
  • Proactive Financial Planning: Prepare documents for the monthly projection process, ensuring payment applications are completed and ready for recording per SOP.
