Job summary

ARCO is seeking a Design/Build Manager to drive project performance and profitability from day one. You’ll oversee estimating, scheduling, design coordination, cost reporting, and site meetings, partnering with owners and design teams to deliver value engineering.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering and 3–10 years of design/build experience, with strong decision-making and MS Project proficiency. ARCO offers ESOP, 401k options, tuition assistance, and generous leave programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project scope, estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, design review, cost reporting, and safety.
  • Ensure accurate and complete project estimates.
  • Coordinate with owners and design team on concept drawings.
  • Lead proposal meetings, value engineering, and subcontractor buyout.
  • Conduct bi-weekly on-site meetings and maintain client communications.
  • Drive process improvements and meet customer expectations.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
  • Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
  • Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
  • Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
  • Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
  • Make sound decisions under tight deadlines
  • Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results

  • Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectations

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Engineering or related field; with a minimum of 3.2 GPA.
  • 3-10 years of design/build experience.
  • Ability to effectively make sound decisions under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results.
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes. Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external customer expectations.
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Computer skills: proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
