Job summary

Mammoth Sports Construction, a Kansas-based turnkey sports construction firm, seeks a Project Manager with 5+ years of commercial construction experience. The PM leads administrative and technical supervision from start to finish, coordinating owners, subs and design teams across Meriden, KS and Kansas City, MO.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, solid knowledge of contracts, and travel to project locations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Technology or related area.
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial general contracting, PM or related role.
  • OSHA 30/OSHA 10 preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to read and apply blueprints and job specs; proficient with MS Office; familiarity with Procore/Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, bid packages, RFIs and schedule.
  • Establish and manage administrative requirements of projects.
  • Review and understand all contract requirements between owner, contractor and subs.
  • Secure permits and verify subcontractor insurance.
  • Schedule and lead project meetings; manage on-site and off-site teams.
  • Monitor cost control and document control procedures; manage estimation and cost-to-complete reports.
  • Ensure timely progress billings and funds collection; provide monthly job status reports.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, designers and engineers; participate in proposals.

Job Location: Headquarters - Meriden, KS 66512Mammoth Sports Construction is seeking a Project Manager with a minimum of 5 years of commercial construction experience. The Project Manager is responsible for the administrative and technical supervision of construction projects. This individual functions as the lead representative for the project(s) and manages the project(s) from start to finish.

JOB LOCATION: Meriden, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri

SALARY: TBD, Based on Qualifications +Benefits

ESSTENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise all activities related to contract administration, change orders, submittals, procurement, bid packages, RFI’s and schedule.
  • Establishing and managing the administrative requirements of projects.
  • Have thorough knowledge of the company’s contracts and understanding of all parties involved.
  • Reviewing, understanding and complying with all contract requirements between owner and contractor, contractor and subcontractors.
  • Secure all required permits and verify insurance coverage for subcontractors.
  • Schedule and facilitate all project meetings required to successfully coordinate work activity.
  • Supervise, direct, coordinate and manage project team members both on and off-site.
  • Reviewing and understanding the project estimate and developing and managing cost control and document control procedures.
  • Total project delivery, including project costs, scheduling, client relationships and profitability.
  • Regular project cost updates, contract buy-out updates, and estimate cost to completion reports.
  • Submitting timely and accurate progress billings and ensuring timely collection of funds from the project owner.
  • Have thorough knowledge of all major project issues and priorities. Prepare and submit monthly job status reports.
  • Provide general administrative and technical leadership for the project. Maintain all project records and monitor correspondence.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, design and engineering firms.
  • Participate in proposals and presentations.
  • Timely project close-out.
QualificationsREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Experience managing large-scale projects successfully from start to finish.
  • Skilled at negotiating and developing relationships with owners and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities along with an open and willing attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish collaborative relationships with internal as well as external stakeholders.
  • Excellent technical skills. Proficient in reading, understanding and applying blueprints and job specifications utilizing various software.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel to project locations as required for meetings, site observations, and project support.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Building Construction Science, Construction Management, Construction Technology or related area.
  • Preferably 5+ years' experience, ideally gained within a commercial general contractor in a project manager, estimator, project engineer or other relative position.
  • OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 training is preferred, but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong ability to handle Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Excel, Word, and Project. Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent experience in similar software would be beneficial, but not required.
