Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a Project Manager - Civil Engineer to oversee civil design and due diligence for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects in the United States. The role requires leading EOR deliverables and coordinating with EPC contractors through multiple design milestones.

The ideal candidate has 11–15 years in civil engineering, a BS in civil engineering, and experience with large infrastructure; PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• 11–15 years of civil engineering experience.
• Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, substations, or large infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, permitting, and construction support.
• Experience managing external engineering firms and EPC contractors.
• PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil due diligence reviews, including ALTA surveys, geotechnical investigations, environmental assessments, permitting, drainage, and grading.
• Manage and review Engineer of Record (EOR) deliverables throughout design milestones (30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC).
• Support design automation initiatives for automated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designs.
• Support project development, constructability reviews, CAPEX estimates, and value engineering.
• Coordinate with EORs, EPC contractors, surveyors, geotechnical consultants, and internal engineering teams.
• Review RFIs, change orders, and construction-related issues throughout project execution.
• Support hydrology, drainage, roadway, grading, and other site development activities.
• Provide technical leadership for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.

Pay Rate: $44-49/hr.
