Job summary

DZYNE Technologies in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Project Manager to lead assigned aerospace and defense projects, driving execution against financial and schedule goals while reporting to the Program Manager.

The successful candidate will organize day-to-day task execution, manage project risks, coordinate with stakeholders, and bring a strong project management discipline from R&D to production environments. On-site role with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in project engineering/management in design/development or fielded operations.
• Experience managing multiple project types.
• Experience expanding programs beyond initial phase and customer.
• Ability to build rapport with program mgmt and stakeholders.
• Strong scheduling skills and ability to plan and track progress using IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project execution plans, schedules, and budgets from kickoff to close.
• Coordinate with key stakeholders for project success and interface with clients and staff.
• Support Master Phasing Schedules, Program Execution Schedule, Staffing Plan, WBS and Financial Plan.
• Report all aspects of project directly to Program Manager.
• Oversee execution to meet financial and schedule goals across aerospace/defense programs.

Position Title: Project Manager

Location: Irvine, CA

Position Summary

The Project Manager provides leadership on assigned projects and acts to execute against financial and schedule goals. The Project Manager reports directly to the Program Manager, organizes the day-to-day execution of tasks, manages and tracks project risks, and coordinates financial and schedule briefings both internally and externally. The successful candidate must have a strong project management discipline background along with experience running projects in the Aerospace and Defense industry. Specific demonstrated experience in leading successful projects in both R&D and production environments is required.

Required Duties And Responsibilities

• Prepare project execution plans, schedules, and budgets while participating in all phases of project work from project kickoff to close out.
• Manage and coordinate with key stakeholders responsible for the success of the project
• Interface with clients and relevant staff
• Support the development of Master Phasing Schedules, Program Execution Schedule, Staffing Plan, Work Breakdown Structure and Financial Execution Plan
• Report all aspects of project directly to Program Manager

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Must have Aerospace or Defense Contractor industry experience
• Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience as a Project Engineer and/or Project Manager overseeing project execution in the design/development or fielded operations program lifecycle phases.
• Experience managing a range of projects is required.
• Experience in expanding programs beyond the initial phase and customer
• Proven ability, capacity, and aptitude with planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating work, and obtaining cooperation from others (must be able to build rapport with program management and key stakeholders)
• High level of scheduling skills
• Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

• Understanding of Critical Chain Project Management, Earned Value and other project controls methods as they pertain to the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Experience across the product lifecycle
• Experience in enterprise resourcing and planning tools
• Exposure to multi-disciplinary engineering functions
• Ability to interpret engineering technical drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.
• Experience transitioning from LRIP to rate production is a plus
• Experience in proposal generation and capture

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Business Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

This position requires access to information and technology subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As a result, employment is contingent upon meeting applicable export control eligibility requirements and compliance obligations.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.

Salary

$120,000 – $170,000 annually
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
